Question about Kitchen Ranges

Dim Electronic Range Control

I have a Kenmore 93591 electronic range. The control panel has gone dim and sometimes I can't read it. I turn the oven on, I know the default is 350, and sometimes it doesn't warm up. Is this fixable or is it time for a new range? We've had it for 18 years and I'm quite fond of it.

Thanks

Sure it is fixable, it is the control panel backlight that had blown.

As I told you this is the control panel backlight that had blown, or the board that powers the light that is faulty.

The light alone could be repaired or replaced by disassembling the control assembly and unsoldering and replacing the bulb or finding the faulty component on the assembly's pcb.

Normally this is not worth and the technician replace the whole assembly.

Try entering exact model number here and look for control assembly part.

You will find out the part price and the diagrams shoowing you how to replace it.

I need Please a solution to F1 Error Code on GE/Kenmore electric ovens Model # 911.4658815 Thanks E-mail: elylimo@gmail.com I have the same model number. 9114658811 and plugged in the stove for the...

Hi,

To my understanding error code F1 would indicate a faulty control board, possibly thermistor control. The only recourse is to have this replaced.

This of course would require a fair familiarity of electrical/electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and possibly a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Adjusting clock brightness on electric range.

Very few ranges have any type of display dimming. Dacor is the only one I know of. If the display is very dim and hard to read, you will need to replace the clock or Electronic Oven Control. If the range is still under warranty, call Whirlpool and request service.

I have the Frigidaire Gallery slide in stove/oven. The display for temperature is so dim that I can't see it anymore. Would it be a fuse?

The Electronic control has lights inside for the time and for the temperature. Over time the lights get dim (Frigidaires do it a lot). The Electronic control is not a Servicable part. You must buy a new Electronic control.

Further inspection found that the ribbon got damaged during the re-instalation of the clock board. A new front control board had to be ordered and installed.
