I connected the ASD-3W to the Denon 3808CI according to the default settings (attached it to the VCR input). When I put my 80gb ipod in the dock and set the receiver to ipod mode, the proper screen (saying "DENON, OK to disconnect") does not appear on the ipod. Also, no music is played through the receiver.
Since I'm using the default setup, I don't think I need to assign the VCR to the ipod, but I tried anyway. I did this using menu options on the display panel of the receiver. Maybe I didn't follow the right steps? The manual is of no help.
-   I ended up just plugging the ipod dock station cable into the connector on the receiver for Tape/CDR without configuring it for the iPod, and it plays fine - I just don't see any of the iPod information on the Denon receiver (which is no big deal) and it can't be controlled from the receiver remote, which is fine since the docking station has its own remote.

VERIFY YOUR CONNECTIONS FROM THE DOCKING STATION TO THE DENON, AUDIO, VIDEO AND CONTROL CABLE PAGE 13 OF MANUAL AND YOU MUST MAKE SURE TO CONFIGURE THE VCR INPUT SEE PAGE 39 IN THE MANUAL IF AFTER YOU DOCKING STATION IS STILL NOT WORKING I WOULD VERIFY THAT IT WORKS
I successfully connected the ASD-3W to the Denon 3808CI using the supplied AV/Control cables (dock control, L & R audio, S-video). I used the video and audio input connectors marked VCR (iPod) on the 3808CI and used the default settings. I used the connector marked Dock Control for the control cable. These VCR (iPod) connectors are different than the input connectors marked VCR. I turned the source selector to VCR/iPod Stereo and operated the GUI using the ASD-3W remote control. I was able to play music and video.

Powering on the device (by plugging in) it will, after a few seconds, show the Denon logo for bout 30 secs then the default screen (ipod) and then switch off and the keeps on repeating the above sequence with no possibilty to get to internet radio menu.
we have gone through the steps in the manual to connect our ipod dock to our denon receiver, but it keeps saying ipod not connected. All cables and plugs are installed correctly. Why won't it work?
