Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console
Pins in my ds lite are not staight so it wont read cards how to straight them???????????
From outside is pretty difficult to straight the slot 1 pins as it is small and you need very thin pliers and light source plus lots of patience.
With a plier you can straight the bent pins to its right position, but make sure the pin is not out of its place as all the pins are V wedge shaped and the pin comes from the slot bottom, the edge fits in a small hole then goes up to make contact with the game cartridge contacts. No one stay out when inserting a cartridge or you'll have a bigger problem.
If there are many bent pins I find more easy to open the DS, desolder the damaged pins and pull em out of the plastic enclosure to repair it, put it in again and re solder. No one option is easy... Sorry...

My recommendations for do-it-yourself repairs of this problem:
1) Replace the main board (difficult enough, but the easiest).
2) Remove the slot-1 port cover to gain better pin access.
3) Remove the damaged pins from the slot-1 port to straighten.
4) Replace the slot-1 port.
All of these recommendations require disassembling the DS Lite using a specialized triwing (or Y) screwdriver and a lot of patience. The following video will help in disassembly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQlTpTLUyFQ.
Recommendation 1 is the only one that does not require solder work. Recommendation 2 requires solder work for 4 solder joints, 1 at each corner. Recommendation 3 requires solder work for up to 17 solder joints, one for each damaged pin. Recommendation 4 requires solder work for all 21 solder joints, but not a bad option if you are good at soldering and like it.
