Question about Rane Serato Scratch Live Computer DJ Solution (Macintosh and Windows) Sound Card

1 Answer

Playing regular cds with serato

I have 2 pioneer cdj 800's and a djm-600 mixer Mac book pro and Serato.I've hooked everything up and everything works except playing regular cds on deck 2. Deck 1 works fine playing with serato or regular cds, so I know everything is hooked up right. I think it has something to do with channel 2 being for line/phono as apposed to channel 1 that is line/line. Deck 2 plays cds but it sounds staticy, I tried hooking a ground wire to channel 2 but that didn't help.

DJM 400 Keep going into over on the channel and the master volume

To keep your levels down keep the TRIM don which is the gray knob. Also keep the hi, mid, and low knobs at the medium level. The control cables are for using the fader start function.

One cdj and one turntable

This is possible, by connecting your turntable to the Line Input on the serato box. Then just connect both to your LINE INPUT on your mixer, and set the controls on your Serato Software to LINE INPUT - NOT Phono.

Hey how come i cant use my loop features on my cdj800 with my serato?

It's the limitations of Serato. Because it's sampling in real-time, the signal cannot be manipulated by the CDJ800. Sorry, there is no way around this. Talk to Serato about this.

This may seem too simple, but have you tried flipping through your channels on your mixer, or try connecting the wires differently.
