SOURCE: Panasonic VCR has F06 code

You appear to have a K Mech model. F06 is the code for the mechanism locking after unload. The cause being something to do with the loading motor or the way the carriage is aligned.

SOURCE: VCR tape is stuck - will not rewind or eject.

There schould be a release buuton on the rear of the machine. It's usually recessed and may be difficult to see. Press this with the yip if a ballpoint pen and extract the tape. If the tape is wrapped around the record/playback heads your only option is to remove the top cover and manually remove the tape. Sounds difficult but if you take your time it's not too bad a job.

Testimonial: "Thank you! - no button - took the top off. I depressed a lever next to the tape switched the VCR back on and pressed the eject button - it worked!"

I put a tape in vcr, have to run errand, want to watch when I return....well, guess what, tape won't come out...what can I do without ruining my tape...it is one of those vcr tv combos

With a little dis-assembly, the tape can be saved without any problem. The main issue is that this is really not a DIY repair. There are dangerous high voltages present inside the unit even when unplugged. I would not suggest you attempt to retrieve this tape. The repair cost for parts will be about $10 (belts). Check with a few local repair shops. They should be able to help with this at a reasonable price. A complete refurb of these types of units can usually be done for less than $100 total. I refurb these all the time.

Hope this helps,
Dan

We have a Toshiba tv/vcr model # MV13M3. When we play a VCR tape the sound come thru just fine but there is only fuzz for a picture. Is there a tracking adjustment that could help?

The "fuzz" is because of no video signal from the heads. You can try a cleaning tape. If that fails, then the unit will need to be taken apart and a professional cleaning/realignment done. I would also suspect that the last tape that was used prior to this current one is probably suspect as the culprit here. The heads were likely contaminated by that tape.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

I was rewinding a tape and the VCR just stopped. When I hit either play or rewind the VCR makes a kind of whine or grinding sound and then the following message appears in the display: 3L 22 AA. What...

Have you tried ejecting the tape?

If the cassette will not eject, the tape is probably fouled on the capstans and will need to be "surgically" removed, VERY CAREFULLY from the machine.

Sony DSR 25, error code C3140. Any advise. Only comes up when tape is inserted.

FG fault when starting drum.
It’s very possible that you have a bad drum motor.

DSR 1500P problems loading tape

Are there any indications on the front panel at all? There should be an error code of some sort there. If not, I'll need to research this a bit. Please update this with any codes.

Thanks,

Error code 08 comes. Tape ejects automatically. Auto off stays on. Can someone help

error 08 indicates "video drum not spinning." could be as simple as a bad tape, but most likely is defective video drum assembly or defective motor driver circuit.

Sony DSR-45 will not eject tape nor play,ff,rewind shows error

The generic error codes C32:xx indicate that a motor is not functioning. If you have not worked on these machines before, extreme caution is advised. These have extremely sensitive alignments that can easily be disturbed.

Please update this with your familiarity with these machines and I'll try to provide additional directions.

Thanks,
Dan

VHS code compatibility

The video standard in Japan is PAL while it is NTSC here in the USA. You should be able to locate a VCR than can play both. If you'd rather not purchase a new VCR, some locations that create DVDs from VHS tapes can usually also read PAL tapes.

Cannot eject VHS tape from Sony SLV-X811

I had a similar problem with a Panasonic VCR. It would not eject the tape and gave an error code. I found that the door does not quite fully open, so that the top of the tape hits the door and cannot eject. If I turn off and then turn on the VCR the error code disappears. Then I press the eject button and simultaneously hold the door fully open with one finger until the tape starts to eject and clears the door.
