Follow the power cord inside the set---be aware precautions and care need to be taken when opening the set--easy to damage screen etc if not done properly.

In this set usually not a fuse if dead unless no power light--nothing at all.....

Testimonial: "thanks so much !! there is no power light, nothing ! I took the thermal fuse assembly off the projection housing and forgot that I hadnt put it back before I plugged the set up so it touch the lamp housing and the tv shut off so I am guessing it is a fuse but I can see the fuse but its behind all kind of cirvuit board and I see no way to get it out ?"

SOURCE: How do I clean air filter on the Panasonic PT-50LCX64?

I feel bad for you having such problems with the vendor and the technician too.
The location of that filter could be a small window in the back cover itself. could be a plastic window to the left side of the unit and is only a piece of plastic poliuretane kind of black sponge about 5 by 3 inches size .
What im interested telling you about the shut down condition and is maybe even most important than where is the air filter (who is one of the more than ten posibilities why the tv goes to shut down.
Note:
if the air filter is totally obstructed i would give one of ten probabities of suspicious why the tv shuts down:
first because the tv's air duct is not really isolated. The fan can eat air by any side of the air filter base as i said if the filter is totally obstructing which is really extreme. besides maybe the other 2 fans could help to cool down the unit in that case scenario. In my experience Most time the air filter holds tons of dust but is not totally obstructing the air passing, and really some other problems are in the set.

This is the really critical to know: if any of those fans stopped or maybe any sensor is overheated or the lamp is coming to dead or who knows.. a diagnosis is needed for this symptom really common in DLP technology.

I have a model number PT-50LCX64 Panasonic rear projection TV. After turning on the TV about 3 minutes will elapse and TV will automatically turn off by itself.

Probably the fan isn't working or is dirty and needs cleaning. The projector bulb is overheating and shutting down the TV. Clean or replace the fan.

I have a green tint on the screen. covering about 90 percent of the tv. it looks like a block on the bottom right corner. the very top and right side of the tv is fine. its prob about a two inch line that...

If you tried to clean the mirrors or someone else tried, there may be an object on one of the picture tubes. I've seen this happen. In one case I repaired a projection TVwith a piece of black tape across the red tube. It may have left the manufacturing plant this way. Please check and see if a cloth is laying on one of the projection tubes. If not, you have a contaminated picture tube, replace the fluid. Thanks for asking!

I believe my tv was involved in a power surge. red/green blinks

Hello:
U just may of blown fuses on the power supply of the television if you are sure it was a surge. If u can open the unit check all fuses on the power supply for open coniditions. If the future is a good Ideal to use a surge proctector as this will protect your equipment. Make sure power is off and remove AC power to check fuses. Sometimes just removing AC power for a least 2mins will reset the unit.

My panasonic pt50lcx64 will not stay on, sometimes wont even turn on, but when it does, it lasts about 5 min then cuts off and the yellow light blinks 2x every 5 sec

Try typing your model tv along with the words "trouble codes" This could be a code 22 or a 2. Sounds like a bad connection or bad component failing such as capacitor or resistor. The tv may be shutting down as protection against what it senses as a power supply failure.

You need to have your Panasonic remote.

2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:

3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.
