Question about RCA TH1602 MP3 Player
I had decided to reload the firmware. Initially this did not work as the device could not be found. I then found a mention that if you reset the device and then as you plug it into the USB port hold the Play button in... you should see it find new hardware (ROM initialzing). After this I had to reboot. It still wouldn't start but now I was able to load the firmware and it came up fine after this. This method does format the drive so everything is lost (not even the initial software was on it).

Take the battery out!
Before attaching to USB port:
1. Press "Power" for 10 seconds
2. Press and hold "Play" while attaching to USB port
After attaching to USB port:
1. Release "Play", should try to install drivers for the mp3 player, HOWEVER, it is not guarantee that it will install the drivers.
Case of not installing, go to the following page for the firmware:
Download the firmware, install it on the MP3 player, it will fix the problem.
