How to get incoming calls to two handsets

The system should be configured so that the desired lines, whether CO or extensions, are set to "Appear and Ring" on each set.
Config... Terminals&sets... Show Set... (enter #)... Find...Line Access... Line Assignments... Show Line (enter #)... set to "Appear and Ring" on each set that needs to ring.

You can also have a line "Ring Only" without an appearance (dedicated button), in which case it will show as an intercom call.

I can make calls but phone doe not ring

You said "it seems to ring once then stops." One possible cause of what you're describing is called a "Ring Trip." It is characterized when the button that flashes to indicate an incoming call changes to steady red (which would normally indicate the call is answered) although no one actually answered the call. If that occurs, then you have to test to see whether you can tell where the problem is coming from. If you unplug all the phones, you can then call in (from a cell phone or other phone that's not part of the system) and see if the incoming call rings unanswered, as it should when no phones are attached. If all rings in OK, plug just one phone in at a time and call in to see if any particular phone causes the problem. If one causes the ring trip, then disconnect that broken phone. If ringing still stops when no phones are attached, you'll have to disconnect the phones' connection wires (Station Wires) at the phone system box that plug into the "Station Ports" (label them before you unplug any!). Do not unplug the plugs for the wires that feed phone company lines into the phone system, the jacks are called CO line ports. With the "Station" wires unplugged, see if If all rings in OK by calling in from a cell phone or other phone that's not part of the system. If all rings in OK, plug just one station wire in at a time to see if one causes the problem. If one station wire causes the ring trip, then disconnect that troublesome wire and inspect its "system box jack" and its phone jack for water damage, carpet cleaning solvent, exterminator spray or any other corrosive liquid damage. Sometimes a staple through a wire where there's humidity can cause the problem. This process will find the offending wire, jack or phone that causes a "Ring Trip." There are many other possibilities, but the extremely limited description you've provided "it seems to ring once then stops." doesn't help me send you a better answer yet.

No access to outside lines from one jack

Hi, What you can try is check the plug connection. If they are bent or broken. Replace the cable to and from the phone. If that is OK then you know the phone is the problem. Take it to be repaired.

If I'm understanding right, you are plugging in a regular "residential" phone into a phone system jack. The system phones work differently than home phones and you won't get a dial tone out of the jack unless you use a system phone.

I cannot receive incoming fax, what setting do I have to use

Please go through the following checklist:
  • Make sure to plug the telephone fax line from the phone jack in the wall to the Line port on the back of your printer. For more info, please refer to the Lexmark X4200 User's Guide.
  • Make sure the fax machine is connected to right phone jack in the wall and is assigned with the correct fax number.
  • If you have an answering machine connected to the same fax line, be sure to configure it so that it answers first before the fax machine (e.g. if your answering machine picks up on the 3rd ring, set your fax to pick up on the 6th ring or more)
  • If the line has a voicemail feature, disable it or request for a distinctive ring from your phone company.

I puchased one kx t 7565 x ph for my panasonic epbx it is not working what can i do i verified the epbx box one line the voltage is low

Let me see. A 7565 is an analog system phone, it requires 2 pairs to operate, and you'll see 24 volts on the inner pair and about 13 volts on the outer or data pair. You can plug the phone directly into the KSU jack, making sure you have a 4-pin base cord. Outside of that, I have no idea what "low voltage" is.

When I plug the printer into the phone jack the house phone goes dead. The phone line is an ATT Ring Master, Distinctive ring is on on the printer

Are you sure you're plugging into the phone jack on the printer? The network cable jack will hold a phone jack.

The network cable jack is (from the front of the machine) on the left side, right above the USB port. The phone lines are in back, top center. The incoming line should go into the jack labeled 'Line', which I think is the one on the right when you're looking at them.

1 lines is ringing & another is not ringing

Somewhere you should have a programming and operating manual for your phone system. Typically in a Panasonic you turn on CALL WAITING for both Intercom and Outside lines via a code you dial at each phone on the intercom (7311# 7321# for a TA).

This is assuming that the lines are already programmed to ring at the phone.

Line 4 doesn't ring in coming call

The way 4 line phones work is that you need 4 lines on every jack that is connected to your phone.
You see the light probably because one of the phones has line conected and you see line appearance.
