I have a hampton bay hb50-n dehumidifier that won't turn on. I turn the dial to the max position and still nothing. The fan won't come on either. The outlet that it is connected to has power. It is about 5 years old. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My whirlpool dehumidifier works fine, fills up reservoir, and stops. I have attached a hose so it will drain, but this one attaches above the storage container instead of to the bottom of the container. My old one drained the container with a hose connection at the bottom of it. This one has just one hose connection, and it is above the container. The container continues to collect the water and then shuts off. I just want to drain it down a basement drain with a hose. How can I use the hose? is there another place to connect that I can't find?
