My compaq hp d51s can not boot the fan starts, stops nd then starts again and it beeps three times and nothing displays on my monitor. I have tried to removed the ram but still its the same

More than likely you have a memory problem.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.I say your problem is memory related based on HPs website. Click the link below and then click on the beep codes link in the Table of Sample Beep Codes near the bottom.

Hanging on booting after memory count

Sounds like the boot files might be corrupt. Click Start/All Programs/Accessories then look for the Command Prompt. If you don't see CMD, click RUN and type cmd in the box and press enter. A black window will open allowing you to type in commands. Try the following command by typing: sfc /scannow (it will run a while and when it finishes try rebooting). If sfc fails to fix the problem try this command: chkdsk /r
Chkdsk will run an hour or more so be patient and let it do it's thing. You'll even notice that the percentage of completion will go from high to a lower percentage in the process. That's ok, just be patient and let it run until completion.

Go into the BIOS and set the BIOS configuration to its default settings. Save the changes and exit the BIOS.
When the computer restarts see if it will boot past the Windows logo.

Please let me know what happens.

I'd try booting windows into safe mode and disabling windows firewall then trying to boot up normally. I've also heard this may be some kind of a virus.

I can only connect to the internet in safe mode

You didn’t provide a lot of information here, but based on what you are saying, the computer starts up and works in safe mode only and when you try to start it is normal mode it fails. Knowing what happens when *** fails might be really helpful, but that’s okay.

It sounds like a driver issue. One of the drivers has gone bad (become corrupted) and when it tries to load, it fails and brings the whole system down. The trick is to find which one is failing. This is typically listed on the “blue screen of death” when the failure occurs.

The biggest cause of these kinds of failures is the video driver. To fix this start the computer in safe mode and remove the old driver. To do this go into the device manager (right click the My Computer icon and click Manage and then click on the Device Manager link). Click the plus next to the Display adapter properties and remove the old driver.

Obtain a new driver and install it.

See if the system boots.

If you could get me more information on the failure type and what happens, I might be able to lock down a better solution.

Sounds like you may have a virus. It could be a memory issue. If you know a tech have them try also try recovery console/fixmbr/fixboot. This will write a new master boot record which does get corrupt and keeps the OS from booting up. At the same time have them do a REPAIR of your operating system. If all else fails REINSTALL.....

Clicking sound from new PC

If the system boots normally, then the clicking sound is probably not the hard drive.

When a hard drive has the "click of death" it is usually associated with a failure to boot to Windows.

The clicking could be several things, fans, CD drives etc. If the system is running normally, it may be something minor.

If the system is 5 days old, it is under warranty. If you are concerned about the system, take it back to best buy and have them look at it (It should be free, as them first.)
