Re: Computer locks up suddenly & screen goes blank

I have the same problem, the hard drive light stays on and the system freezes. I tried making sure the CPU was cool enough but it didn't seem to help. Also, I noticed that the CPU fan appeared to be running and when it froze then it shut off. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks!

Re: Computer locks up suddenly & screen goes blank

Sounds as if you have an overheating problem, remove the side panels of your desktop and see if you get any longer before he crash. While the sides are off check the Heatsink and fan are'nt clogged with dust and check that the cables are not restricting the air flow. If the panels removed stop the crash, you may have to fit a system fan to remove hot air, they are only cheap and do the job. The worst case senario is a processor problem and will need replacing.
