Sounds like a bad backlight bulb. I am sure it will not be that easy to replace.

My picture is pinkish and glossy

If the overall picture has a pinkish hue to it and skin colors appear to have pinkish blotches. White scenes have a pinkish hue to them then it is is likely the main display board, 6871QCH029A. This board is located next to the Y sustain board. Need to remove the tv from the stand to get to the main display board. I just fixed my Z50PX2D that had the pinkish hue to it by replacing the main logic board. Check ebay for boards.

I have a normal picture on my sharp aquos but a green hue to my picture, how do i solve this?

first thing to do is turn color all the way off or down completely--Stand back and examine the screen---do you have a perfect gray or black and white picture? this and the model number will determine what to do.

I got this philips plasma tv a long time ago, and i have recently noticed this purple/pink line (wide line) of pixels flashing down the middle of the screen, this line really stands out in bright areas...

When was the last time you updated the firmware...? When we purchase these High dollar items, we are not told these things... Check your Manual and go to the support page, you will need the exact Model information on the web site... so be cautious... that is the first thing you should do before you have to spend money that does not grow on trees...

My Hitachi tv no longer has any green contract when I try to change the hue as a result my tv has a large centre area that seems to have a redish hue and no matter how I try I don't get any real color...

Hello,

This problem is very common with rear projection TV's.

It is related to one or more of the colour guns being out of alignment or needing to be replaced. The only way to correct this issue is to have a technician come in and fix it or bring it into a repair center. I personally would suggest purchasing a new TV. The cost of getting them aligned is usually more then a basic LCD.

Hope this helps

There are two very thin lines (pixel thin) that just appeared on the LCD screen. One is in the middle near the bottom, the other is on the lower left side. They are both fixed and are there no mater which...

If these lines are white, then they generally are a line of burnt out pixels. There is no home fix for these and I have yet to see a repairman fix this problem. I have seen on occasion where the line gets longer. Its best to start looking for a new replacement or try to live with it until you can't stand it any more.

Tv screen has a red/orange glow in the middle -should be black

I have the exact same problem. I had purchased a new lamp shortly after the warranty expired and never needed to use it. I decided to install it today to see if that helped with the red glow. No difference. Someone else posted that when the TV is moved (we just moved from Canada to the US) it can misalign or damage some component. Still trying to figure out what that is...probably cost more to fix that a new TV!!!

My 61 inch RCA HDTV shows a redish shadow outlining each object

Problem #1 - CONVERGENCE PROBLEM

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

You most likely have image burn in on the display if it is not in a straight line. If it is in a straight line than it can be dead pixels. It is most likely the first issue I saw this same issue at work with an HP plasma TV.
