You can reduce (or eliminate) the occurrence of pop-up ads by setting an Option in your browser that "Blocks Pop-Up" ...
If you're using IE Explorer, click on "Tools" (top right corner of screen - tool bar), put your cursor on "Pop-Up Blocker" (in the drop down window) and click on "Pop-Up Blocker Setting". Then, at the bottom of the window, set the "Blocking Level" at HIGH - which blocks all pop-up from showing up on your screen.
You can do it for other browsers as well ... e.g. Mozilla Firefox ...
click on Open Menu (the 3 horizontal bar on top right corner), select Options (in the drop down window), select the "Content" tab ... and check of the box (on the top) that says Block Pop-Up's, and then close.
Often pop-up's show up because your activity (viewing, searching, etc.) on the browser is tracked. Yes you can turn off tracking too !
This tracking info is used by "ads spawning" processes/apps to select which ads is displayed on your computer. So, you can reduce the amount of ad's by deleting cookies (particularly for these ads programs) every time you're done and close your browser ... just like you remove your (browsing) history, temporary files, cache information, etc.
Google adsense does not let you choose your ads. but instead they will send a bot(an indexing software) to your site and it will read your site and then it will choose the ads for you. if you want to get the relevant ads to your site you should provide keywords in the header in your site. for instance, if you want to have ads about games in your site you have to provide keywords saying the word 'games' in your sites header and plus, you have to have that same keyword in your sites body as well. only then the bot can realize you are asking ads about games and it will choose the ads about games to you and give you the code.
They don't choose you, you have to apply and ask for an account (based on your own site/Blogger.com blog). In order them to approve your request, your site (and every site you might put the Adsense code in the future) must follow their webmasters guidelines which are basically:
- Use the code in sites where the content is not about: Gambling, Hate, War, Hacking, Porn, Racism etc.
- Don't use more then 3 ad units + 3 link units on the same page.
- Don't mislead your audience to click on ads.
- Don't click your own sites ads.
G adsense is a service Google gives for advertisers - they can choose relevant sites to put ads in, and fr sites owners - they can display google ads code and get paid for every click they get on their sites ads.
Follow the steps below - 1. Got to Tools > options 2. check "Allow sites to set cookies" 3. Select "privacy", then click "+" near the 'Cookies'. 4. In the "Advanced" tab, make sure that "Use SSL 2.0" and "Use SSL 3.0" are checked. 5. Click "OK" 6. Close all Firefox browser windows and tabs you have open. Reopen Firefox, you should be able to see your ads now.
