First of all What password are you talking about?

If it is the BIOS-User Password, which comes at the startup then it is a serious problem and you have to go to a nearest service center of toshiba. There they will check your problem & solve it.

Last year the same happened to my laptop, i did my own research and tried many tricks, even i opened my whole laptop on my own but at last i had to report in service center and they replaced my mother-board.

How do i get the os password off my recently purchased toshiba laptop?

If you're talking about the Windows 7 User Login Screen:

Take it back to the yard sell and tell the person that sold it to you to give you the password, or the password reset disk. With Windows 7, that's just about your only option.

depending on which OS you have installed, if XP run your OS CD in repair mode, i.e. the second time "r" appears on the screen you will be reinstalling your OS and can rest your password when prompted to on the screen, else in vista or win7 use the recovery CD to reset your password.

    My operating system is unregistered

    Hi,
Having an os that is not registered is having a limited program that you can use and access some do not fuctions they even expired. If the vista ultimate is not registered better use the other os that is registered were you can access your program, you can update latest software and enjoy free sofware given by Windows Vista.
    Thanks
