My laptop hi,referring to te problem i complained about due that my computer which refuse to booth and is asking me to buy a window software to install on it and i dont hav this software,am writting again to ask if there is any help u can render bcos i dont hav dis software and am asking if i can dowload it on the system to install it on my laptop.plz can u send the link for the download.

I think you have a problem with Windows Boot Loader or any third party Boot Manager that you may have used. Anyway, Try to install windows xp from a cd to a drive other than C:. If you can install it then it will fix the boot loader problem. If not then you may have to reformat or in the worse case repartition your HDD.

You didn't post the Make, Model of laptop or the OS you are using so I have no idea what solution to suggest. I have to assume your machine has decent hardware specs and the OS is Windows 7. Their may be to many processes running overloading the Processor/Memory. Start by cleaning and disabling unnecessary startup programs. A generic solution/suggestion is : Use these two Freeware programs to Clean up your machine, 1, CCLEANER at: Run the cleaner to remove the junk from your machine, in the TOOLS section, STARTUP section, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs, reboot. 2, MALWAREBYTES at: In the install UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL scan, delete ALL results and reboot. ALSO, Open Control Panel, select Internet Options, select Programs tab, open Manage Add Ons, in Toolbars and Extentions, disable ALL toolbars and unnecessary Extentions, open Search Providers , select Google as default and remove all others. Run a Full Scan with your up-to-date Anti Virus Software. Run Windows Updates for ALL current updates.

Setup is starting services


First try to check if you can log to your computer via Safe Mode, if you can then there is a few possible things happened to your computer:
1. Corrupted software installation that is messing up with your startup services.
2. Hardware problem (memory or bad sector in the hard disk)
3. Or Operating system or malware.

Anyway for the step to test if you can log in via Safe mode try the steps below:

Open Safe Mode with the F8 key

All Windows versions can be booted into Safe Mode by this method. Note that it is somewhat tricky to time this procedure and it may take several attempts.

1. Turn on or restart your computer.
2. Hold down the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. If the computer makes a complaining noise, tap the F8 key repeatedly instead of holding it down.
3. If a Windows logo or "Windows starting" appears, wait until Windows loads. Then restart the computer and try pressing F8 again.
4. Once you are successful, a menu will appear with a number of boot options. Use an arrow key to navigate to "Safe Mode" and press the Enter key.

Trying to get to Safe Mode by using the F8 key can be frustrating and there is another way that uses the System Configuration Utility (msconfig).

If you are talking about the protection software..the procedure is just like any other program ...go to control panel ...engage the add remove software...(or remove programs for windows 7 the program in the list ..and click remove ..
If it refuses to uninstall itself ..try a few times...make sure it is deactivated from the tray system icon (click right on it and disable or exit ) and try again ..If it still refuses to remove itself ..go to computer (my computer ) C ..and program files...In there locate the folder named k9 or named after the company that made it ..and delete that folder ..If refuses to delete ..just open it and delete them one by one ..until it will be non functional ...After that go back to add/remove software in control panel .. and try to remove again if it is still there ..Usually windows will see it corrupted..and will propose to delete it ..

Hi I have an ACER laptop and i'm pretty sure it has a virus. Can you talk me through the process of removing in over the phone?

Why dont you restore to factory settings?Mines F10 whilst booting (or re-install O.S discs)most are different,refer to manufacturers site and if using windows buy the recommended anti-virus software,so the problem does not re-occur.

Well, again, if it doesn't work, connect your laptop to the internet via an Ethernet cord, and download any updates you find at Windows Update. Continually do that until no more updates show up.
