Cannot print images from Palm TX--Notebook section

Images download to Palm page on the computer, but "print" function seems to be non-existent. Any ideas? I need some of the drawings that are in there. Thanks,, NEF1

Re: Cannot print images from Palm TX--Notebook section

Not sure what you mean by "Notebook section", but you need to have a print software installed on the TX to print directly to a printer (without a computer). You can use PrintBoy: It will enable you to print wirelessly from your TX. Otherwise, try using CardReader and your USB cable to connect your palm as a usb card reader, to your computer. Then you can transfer the images or any needed files to your PC.

Having loaded Ooutlook 2007 and the latest updates for my Plam Tx I am no longer able to sync my calendar.

If you use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 on Windows XP or Windows Vista, you'll need this update to perform Sync operations with Outlook's Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes, as well as optional non-wireless Email sync.
Here's the link for the update first detach your palm from pc then just click, download update and restart your pc

Cant get online images with my palm tx, is it a java update

Most of the time it is a software update that is needed. Download the software from your installation CD or you can go to and click on support to get the newest version of the software. After that just hotsync it and it should work the way it was designed. If that doesn't work palm has a chat feature on their website to tey out where you can chat directly to a palm rep. Best wishes.

Bought TX but have no desktop software cd

Yes if you go to you will find a section for support. You can download everything you need there to get your PDA up and running. Once you have the software installed on your computer you will want to go in and enter all your information like names and addresses in your contact section. Once you have that all done you connect the PDA to the computer by using the usb cord and then hit HotSync. You can go back later and update any of your infomation right in the PDA itself. Best wishes. Let me know if you need any other help with this.

Books on Palm TX

I would be happy to help you in finding resources for this issue. There are many places to get ebooks from and based on now much memory you have on your device will tell me how many books I can help you put on there.

As far as the battery is concerned I can help in finding a replacement.

Thanks Frank Z.

Dropped my Palm TX, IR no longer works

I went to the Palm support website. It seems that after any reset, including a soft reset, the Beam Receive function has to be re-enabled. Follow this path:
  • Applications==>Prefs==>Power
  • Beam Receive==>Off==>On==>Done
For more information:,kb=PalmSupportKB,CASE=obj(14838),ts=Palm_External2001

I also updated the driver for my Palm wireless keyboard.

Palm TX: Digitizer problems - can't use all functions; i.e.all those on bottom row of screen. Soft reset and touch-screen alinement exercise doesn't seem to work.

I developed the same problem after owning my TX for about a year and a half. I found an acceptable solution by experimenting with the digitizer. Instead of tapping the very center of the bullseye, I tapped off center until I found an acceptable setting where accessing functions anywhere on the screen would work for me.

JPG files

The picture program that comes with the Palm software should be loaded into your Palm.
Do you see an icon on your desktop for it?

Can't open palm pilot IIIxe on computer (Vista)

VIsta does not support your early generation Palm Pilot.

It barely supports the current TX but there are workarounds.
Hope you kept your old computer for a backup. :+) but its understandable if you didn't.

They recently released a more stable version but plenty of users still have difficulty. The workaround is to load files for any third party product (docs, videos, images) via the SD memory card.Users reported they could update via bluetooth or wi-fi for the Palm's own software. However, this is not an option for your model.

Later models with an SD card option still have to be initialized and prepared for the Palm from an older XP computer first. It's a workaround, not a match. I'm not up to date so users may have a stable sync system/method now with Vista. Check the forums.

Your model does not have an SD option this as it is an early generation model. You may continue to run this older model on older computers.

I am not recommending you buy a new personal device until you research on Brighthand and other user forums. Take advantage of other peoples experiences re: Vista. It will save you a lot of grief and help you decide when and whether to upgrade.

from Wicki and product info:
The first two generations of PDAs from Palm were referred to as "PalmPilots" which upgraded to external memory slots and firmware-upgradeable flash memory after the Palm III series.
The next versions of Palm used Palm OS 3.1. These included Palm IIIx with 4 Megabytes of memory. Compare this to the TX which has 128 MB of non-volatile storage and current OS of 5.4.

The TX released in October of 2005, as part of Palm's Fall 2005 product cycle. It features 802.11b, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. It was priced at $299. It runs Garnet, version 5.4.9. It largely replaced the earlier, costlier T5. <In my experience, It usually runs as low as $200 during Black Friday (Thanksgiving time). With discounts and indirect rebates, it can go as low as $150. FYI, With the move to Smartphones, this model will not have continued development from the company. >

On top is a slot for SD expansion cards. The slot is also SDIO and MMC compatible. 2 GB cards are usable directly.
<in my research, Only SD, not SD HC (high capacity) cards are compatible. 4GB SD only cards are difficult to find now that SDHC are the norm. It's not a issue for me since those also use more power. 2GBs can be had as low as $6 with creative dealing.>
