Hello jbitwa, To determine if the scratches will have messed up you motherboard you have have to determine where the scratches are and what is scratched up. Now if you just scratched up the green motherboard (no circuits [lines cut open] and no chips [blocks]) you should be fine. But the only way to truly tell is if it will turn on when you plug everything back in. Now the processor board is small and efficient but there is still room on there for someone to scratch and still allow forgiveness.
I look forward to your post to see if it still fires up.

SOURCE: xbox 360 motherboard scratch.

Jeff,

Depending on where it is scratched makes the difference. But if its small scratches I think you should be fine. However any scratch on any of these platform like things can do any amount of damage.

Replacement motherboard? You could look into microsoft to see if they sell them. However even if you do obtain one you would need to find the right code to unlock it, same parts for yours. Which will get tricky. You could try here if you think you can do it by yourself: www.xbox-scene.com

Other solution: just buy a new system, they are fairly cheap.

I bought a psp game that had a tiny scratch and now it freezes and osent load, can anyone tell me what to do besides taking it back?

Try cleaning the disc and using one of those Disc Doctor things, or scratch remover cream, to remove the scratch. You can also get the disc refaced at a local game store.

Each of my discs are gettin scratched

Don't leave your cds in the xbox while its off.. the older models tend to scratch them while they are off, and when you start up the box with a cd in it probably messes the cd...

You're better off downloading games to hard drive since It reads the disk alot less.. preventing scratching while it checks it.

Scratched Xbox 360 motherboard

Hi,

Usually if a motherboard has been scored or damaged.
( tracks or resistors/capacitors dislodged et,c )
The board is in the Bin. ( scrap ) unless the damage can be repaired. The RROD Or red-ring of death. Is usually due to the x-clamps fitted to the console initially, by the manufacturer.
Replacing the x-clamps, with a kit ( bolts/washers thermal Compound ) And 4 x heatpads recommended. Can cure the RROD. And in my own experience the 1 red light And E74 error.

Bottom line, if the boards scratched. it,s in the Bin.

Im sorry but this is the equivelant of a car being written off. It cant be fixed, simple as that. If it is possible to be fixed, it would work out cheaper to just buy a new one

My gta4 game just got scratched again how can i stop this

This is a known error that effects some xbox 360 consoles.
try and keep your console on its side so the disc cant slip in the disc tray as this might cause it to scratch.
if it continues to scratch your disk you may have to send your console in for repairs.
oh ye if the game isnt working then go to a place like a dvd/ game store and ask if they clean disks mostr usually do and it fixes all but serious damage.
