Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Hey i need serious assistance. i made two tiny scratches on my xbox 360 motherboard. will this mess the entire motherboard up or is their still hope.
To determine if the scratches will have messed up you motherboard you have have to determine where the scratches are and what is scratched up. Now if you just scratched up the green motherboard (no circuits [lines cut open] and no chips [blocks]) you should be fine. But the only way to truly tell is if it will turn on when you plug everything back in. Now the processor board is small and efficient but there is still room on there for someone to scratch and still allow forgiveness.
I look forward to your post to see if it still fires up.

SOURCE: xbox 360 motherboard scratch.
Depending on where it is scratched makes the difference. But if its small scratches I think you should be fine. However any scratch on any of these platform like things can do any amount of damage.
Replacement motherboard? You could look into microsoft to see if they sell them. However even if you do obtain one you would need to find the right code to unlock it, same parts for yours. Which will get tricky. You could try here if you think you can do it by yourself: www.xbox-scene.com
Other solution: just buy a new system, they are fairly cheap.
