I was changing some settings in my dvd and suddenly the screen went black and my dvd didn´t respond anymore to the remote control.
I desconnected the dvd for about 3 months and now that i turn it on, it still doesnt work, the audio works but it doesnt have any image. I cant remember which button or what setting i changed , i suppose that i desconfigured the dvd.
What can i do?
I found this solution effective... my dvd works!! The only thing I will add is that you need to make sure there is no dvd/cd inside. Then you proceed to reset it, it's usually done by pushing one of the buttons on the unit for 10 seconds (in my case the stop botton)-- (the light will flash from green to red and the go back to green)... that´s it!. Good Luck!! :)
You need to reset it, it's usually done by pushing one of the buttons on the unit for 10 seconds or so with the power on (yellow/green light is on). Which one varies on different units, just keep trying till you find it, the unit will shut down (light will go red)when you get it right.
P.S. you probably changed the setting with S-video, which is in video in the set up menu. WHen you reset you should be seeing the picture again.

Open the Philips HOME SCreen,...
Type on your remote: 13893108520
This will display all of the current settings for your player.
Region_Code: DVD(2) BD(B)
This will not change any settings, but will report your current settings. So it's a reporting function only.
To change your DVD region settings try the following:
Turn on player with no disk inserted
Press "Open/Close" on the remote control
Press 259 on the remote control
After enter the code 13893108520 again on the HOME Screen and the player will show region "0"
Now the buttons on the front of the player do not work anymore....
You will need to go to SETUP and click on RESET FACTORY SETTINGS....
Wait until the player restarts and now you can play all DVD regions..... ;-)
Resetting the TV If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:
NOTE: Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time. 1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet. 2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...) 3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds. 4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV. 5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again. 6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices. 7. Turn on the TV.
I have a COBY DVD player TF-DVD7005 that hadn't been used in a while. When I charged the battery and the light went from red to green, nothing happens when I push play and the DVD doesn't spin. Could the battery be dead despite the green light and where would I get a new one?
