Hello Press RADIO BAND.AUTO PRESET until the band you want appears in the display (direct power on). Each time you press this button, the indication changes as "FM" --> "AM". Hold down TUNE + or --, until the frequency digit begins to change in the display. The player automatically scans the radio frequencies and stops when it finds a clear station. If you can't tuned in a station, press the button repeatedly to change the frequency step by step. If FM broadcast is noisy, press "MODE" until "Mono" appears on the display and the radio will play in monatural without any noise. Only strong FM signals can be decoded to stereo. OK.

"FM" => "AM"  Hold down TUNE+ or --ve until the frequency digits begin to change in the display. The player automatically scans the radio frequencies and stops when it finda a clear station. If you can't tune in a station, press the button repeatedly to change the frequency step by step. If FM band is noisy, press the MODE repeteadly until "MONO" appears in the display and the radio will play it monatural. If FM radio signal at your area is very weak, this type of noise may occur. OK.
1. Select desired channel
2. Press " tuning memory" until "program" flashes
3. Press " preset tuning" up or down to select position 1-10
4. Press " tuning memory" again, flashing " program" disappears
5. Channel is now selected @ position 1-10
6. Find channel @ selected site by pressing "preset tuning" up or down
Do not turn the radio on. Then depress the "mode" button and yo will see all the questions, including time, date, etc. to respond to. Either channel + or - or Tuning + or - (I don;t recall which), will get you the numbers you need, pressing "mode" again will get you to the next module or out entirely.
maybe the amplifier inside is failing if you turn it all the way up for a second and it comes on then it is the amp but if you wiggle the vol and it comes on the its the vol switch
how did the speakers sound ?
tune into the station you want as normal. Then on the remote, press & hold the number key for the preset number you want. This will flash in the display to show you it's set. You can preset 30 FM & 15 AM stations.
