Question about Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Date/TIme Screen ALWAYS appears when camera turned on.

We bought the Canon A570 IS a few years ago and after a couple of months, the Date/Time screen started popping up EVERY time we turned on the camera.  I have entered the date dozens of times but nothing will make it stick. The Date/Time continues to come on every time.

I have the same problem, if happens very often but not always, most
likely if I don't use the camera for 24 hours. Camera is less than 1
year old, and the small 3V battery cr1220 that should take care of this
still measures ok. Maybe a bad contact or something else is broken
inside, anybody who has an other idea why this could happen?

You need to replace the lithium date/time battery. It is a CR1220 coin cell and it's replacement can be done using the instructions on page 109 of the advanced guide. If you don't have a copy you can get one here:

Hope this helps, if it does please rate my solution.

I had the same problem. Here's the solution. Go into menu settings, then over to tools, select reset all at the bottom of options list. You may have to re-enter the date and time. This solved the low battery problem for me. I hope this helps.

How do i remove the date , time, 101nikon 1939 jpg on top of the

This will always be displayed in your camera. However to choose what will imprint on the pix :

Turn your dial to SETUP and select DATE IMPRINT. Then select OFF (nothing will imprint on pix), or DATE (for just the date to be imprinted), or DATE and TIME (for both time and date to be imprinted)

Hmmm...... there might be a time battery that needs replacing. Look fore something like CR1220 or time battery. Pry it open and replace it with a battery of the same size.

Date and time

When you open the battery compartment, there is a small round battery(under the cr1220) slot, lift up this slot and take the battery out and replace it, this is the battery for that function of the camera.

I have a new Canon PowerShot A570 IS and can't figure out how to get the Time and Date to show. When I go to menu and come to the time & date (That says Off) it skips past It wont light up so I can put...

In order to embed the date in the photo, the camera has to be in the "Postcard" mode. That's on the same menu as the picture size -- L, M1, M2, M3, S, Postcard. Once set for Postcard mode, the date/time can be turned on.
