It actually starts to brew, but it doesn't do it every time.

  • kayos875 May 11, 2010

How much does it flow? Is it a small overflow or a total brew start? If small, it is just what was left in the tube from before. If it started to brew.....ya got a problem....

What is hd code????

Hi Peter, If I understand your question correctly, you are asking what the code "HD" means for your machine. I am unable to find the code "HD", however, here is a list of the codes for these Maytag models, perhaps one looks similar to "HD". Hopefully this answers your question!

Washer displaying code messages
- "LF" (Washer is taking too long to fill)
Check the following:
Are the water inlet hoses kinked or clogged?
Are the water inlet valve screens clear?
Press PAUSE/CANCEL to clear display.
- "Ld" (Washer is taking too long to drain water from the wash tub)
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
Is the drain hose installed properly? See "Connect the Drain Hose." Press PAUSE/CANCEL
to clear display.
- "uL" (Unbalanced Load)
If the load is unbalanced, the washer will display this code while running an imbalanced
load correction routine at the end of the wash cycle and before the final spin. If the code
remains and the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, open
lid and redistribute the load. Close lid and press START.
- "oL" (Over Load)
Is the washer overloaded? The washer has attempted to fill and begin the wash cycle. If
the washer is overloaded, it will drain any water and detergent that was added during the
fill. To correct the overload, remove several items and add detergent. Close lid and press
START.
- "Sd" (Suds Detected)
Did you use regular detergent?
Regular or hand-washing detergents are not recommended for this washer. Use only High
Efficiency ("HE") detergent.
Did you add too much detergent?
Always measure detergent. Follow detergent manufacturer's directions.
If excessive suds are detected, the washer will display this code while running a suds
reduction correction routine at the end of the wash cycle. The suds reduction routine
removes extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. If the code remains and
the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, re-select your
desired cycle using cold water. Press START. Do not add detergent.
- "lid" (Lid Opened)
Is the lid open? Close the lid to clear the display. If the lid remains open for more than 10
minutes, water in the wash tub will drain.
- "HC" (Cold and Hot hoses switched)
This code will appear at the end of the wash cycle to indicate that the cold and hot water
inlet hoses are switched. See "Connect the Inlet Hoses."
- "dL" (Door/Lid cannot lock)
Indicates lid is not locked. Check for items caught in the lid keeping it from closing. Press
PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear the code.
- "dU" (Door/Lid cannot unlock)
Is there excessive weight on the lid, such as a basket of laundry? Excessive weight will
keep the lid from unlocking. Press PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear the code.
- "F##" code
Press PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear code. Press START. If code appears again, call for
service.

I just purchased a Maytag load-sensing washer and I HATE IT. If you open the lid after it begins running, it will fill all the way up when the lid is closed, regardless of how few clothes are in the load....

Unfortunately legality no one can tell you how to bypass the lid switch, however I do sympathize with your feelings. This was their attempt to save water by having only a partial fill if you were doing a small load.by auto sensing the load. In my opinion this design Waste water because they took away the manual water level control and created an electronic nightmare.....You might just have to get use to adding all your clothes and detergent close the lid and no peeking Sorry I could not redesign this machine

Washing cylce completed but is not draining to begin the spinning cyle.

A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.

If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced.

Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power.

Washer fills up, but nothing else

Usually the lid switch will let it fill, but do nothing else. Sometimes if you just drop the lid hard the switch will make and it will go through its cycle. If there is the smell of something burnt, it may well be the lid switch.Unplug the machine from outlet, then, lift the entire top of the machine, you will be able to see that switch. Pull the two wires off of the switch and with an Ohm meter, check your switch. It should register open when lid is open, closed when lid is closed. If you are not getting these readings, remove the switch--mark your wires! and replace. You should be able to purchase new switch where you purchased your machine

Have a Bunn NHB. I cannot get more than 4 cups of

I work for BUNN. Has your issue been resolved? The rocker arm is inside the pour in bowl (where you pour in the water for brewing). To get to it you have to take off the entire top lid (not just the spin lid above the pouring area). That can be removed by lifting it up and then you simply snap it back on when you are finished. Hope this helps.

Just bought a Bunn coffee maker at a garage sale great condition how do you make the coffee I have poured water in turned the side switch on and the warmer switch yet nothing?????

The machine requires an initial set up to be completed before using it. Fill the decanter with cold water and close the lid. It will take 3 minutes to partially fill the water tank in the back. Then fill the decanter again with cold water and pour in and close the lid. Then plug in the machine and turn the vacation switch on the side of the machine on. After 15 minutes, you will be ready to brew coffee. Then you will get your filter basket ready with the filter and grounds. Pour in from 4-10 cups of water and place the decanter on the base. Close the lid and the coffee will begin to brew. If you will call customer service with the model and date code, a use and care manual can be sent out to you at no cost.

Musty smell in drum of washer

Run a short cycle with nothing except Clorox and water. This will kill the mold growing in the machine. When not in use, keep the lid open.

Washer will not agitate. After starting the washer the water will begin to fill but when it's time for the agitator to begin it shuts the whole machine off.

If the lid lifts up from the front, tighten the hinge screws on both sides of the lid. If the screws are tight open and close the lid..listen for a click.. no click..lid switch is bad.
