Dear
I think you need auto receive mode. To do so press repeatedly RCV.MODE/POLL key until the indicator flashes rapidly. this will enable the fax in auto mode and turn to receive mode after 2 rings.

Intellifax 2820

DR mode means that the distigntive ring feature has been activated so it will not let you change receive mode. You need to turn off DR first. Press menu/set then 2, 0, 2, then press the down arrow till you see distigntive off then press menu/set.

Now you should be able to change the receive mode to fax only!

My machine is also set to sleep mode and cannot rcv. faxes!

Sleep mode does not affect the reception of faxe check receive settings instead

How can I turn off the auto answer feature of the pansonic kx fh332. I never want it to pick up and go to fax mode.

Set the fax machine to Telephone mode by pressing
{RECEIVE MODE} until TEL MODE is
displayed.

Can i turn the fax machine off on my Philips Magic 5 voice dect?

I think that you must turn the machine in the phone mode. So, when you want to receive the fax
the only thing that you have to do is to turn it in to fax mode or press the start.

When i put it in fax mode it turns off

Press User Tools/counter button;
Select System settings;
Select General Features;
Press the down arrow button to find Function Priority and press OK;
Select Facsimile and press OK.
Then switch off and on the machine.
Now at switch on you you will notice that it is in Fax mode.

Fax machine picking up all calls

You must set the FAX RECEIVE MODE to FAX ONLY. The factory default is FAX/TELEPHONE. You can find the proceedure to change FAX RECEIVE MODE in your owners manual. IIf you don't have an owners manual, try pressing the MENU button, then scroll to one of the following: INITIAL SET-UP, FAX SET-UP, OR FAX RECEIVE MODE. One of these should get you to the FAX ONLY receive mode setting.

Incoming Phone Ringer

After months of trying to solve this problem I finally figured out that the machine was set to phone/fax mode instead of fax only. If you have a dedicated fax line you can set to FAX ONLY MODE. In FAX ONLY MODE you can control whether or not the machine rings when it receives a fax call. You do this by selecting Data Registration, Press Set and use the up and down arrows to select 4. RX Settings. Press Set and use the up and down arrows to display the item you want to set or change and turn the ringer OFF. Press Set.

Fax will not recieve

DR mode means that Distinctive Ring is set to on which will force your fax machine to manual receive. Turn DR off and you can set it to whatever mode you want.

Do you mean that you want to toggle the unit to TEL or TAD Mode? When there is no document in the feeder, press the Resolution/Reception Mode button to toggle between the FAX, TEL and TAD modes. The Resolution/Reception button is at the top of the row of buttons to the right of the number pad. There is an arrow that will point to the current setting in the LCD window. (It points up for the TEL and FAX modes.) The TAD mode is only accessible if you have set the out-going message. (If there is no out-going message, you toggle between FAX and TEL.)
