- Hi was just wondering how exactly im supposed to boot the computer with the cd given that the laptop doesent have a cd drive am i supposed to connect one via the usb?? Sorry but im useless with these things. Thanks for all your help so far.
Try this, Turn the computer on, when it starts keep pressing the F8 key, It will take you to a boot selection window. Choose Safe mode or safe mode with networking. When it comes to the log in window, hopefully you will have 2 choices your login name and one that says administrator. Choose administrator, If you have that choice, go to start control panel, then click on User accounts, click change account and click on your account. Then click Delete password. Iggnore any messages or warnings. Close all that, reboot the computer and you should be good to go. If that doesnt work let me know and we will get you the solution

- Ok then, the next way to do it is to download this Windows Key CD I have made for you
http://rapidshare.com/files/164455521/WindowsKey.iso Just click on the link and if you dont have a rapidshre account, click free user the file is just under 9mb so you can get it down pretty fast.
Burn the Iso to cd and boot your computer from the cd you creat, follow the on screen instructions after that you should be good to go. Just burn the image with any cd burning software

Greetings. I tried to drain the battery of my Acer Aspire D250 notebook this morning but had to lave the house leaving it with about 4 or 5 minutes of power in the battery. When I came back I noticed that although I had shut down the computer properly, disconnected it and closed it up the battering light continued to flash orange. Thinking that it was perhaps alerting me that the battery needed charging, I wanted to see if it would power up, so I tried once and it worked (battery light turned steady orange) and shut it down (battery light continued to flash orange), then tried to power it up again and nothing happened, it wouldn't work. I have it connected now and obviously it is working with the AC power (battery light is steady orange at the moment but I am assuming this is because the battery is nearly empty still. Is this flashing of the battery light when the Acer is off normal, or is something going wrong with my computer?? It's not only a fantastic little machine but I just bought it to travel to America with it next weekend because I have work to write up and no longer have any time to have it serviced, so I'm quite scared that something might happen to it just before I go! Thanks for any info anyone can give me! Best, Bea
