Re: Elvis Phone

So the handset is not heavy enough to hang up the phone? This is a new development? The spring for the hookswitch may have gotten jammed in the wrong position causing more spring tension. It sounds like a fairly easy fix. You may find a local TV, VCR, etc.. repair business willing to look at it.

How do i reset the answering machine on my cordless phones at home

My panasonic handsets have a row of black buttons above the number keys and answer and end call buttons. The screen above these shows little pictographs of what the buttons will do, the left has a book which is the phone numbers stored on the hand set, the middle one has a picture of 2 rows of 3 white dots, this is the button to press once. You then get options of Caller list, Answer system, Handset setup and Base unit set up. Use the big central button with arrows to scroll through the list, please note that the base unit is off screen initially. Select Answer system by pressing the black button below ok. This givs a new list of options, Play new message, play all messages, Record Greating, Answer on, Answer off, PLay greating, Erase message and settings. Slect the required option by pressing black button below the on screen OK. The left hand button will take you back a step, but if you don't press anything after a short time hand set returns to normal. Hope this helps

How do I wall mount the phone, the pins were not included.

The back of the phone or the back of the mounting plate for the phone will have standard wall mount slotted holes to hang the phone on a wall mount outlet that has the pins sticking out to recieve the phone or mounting plate.

I get a message hand-set not in range. No charge light. Hook up appears OK. Second home phone works properly. Prior to problem I tried to dial a local no. but entered 8 nos. Phone says searching or...

Dialing the 8 numbers should not cause a problem.I have a few suggestions, you may have tried a couple already.Hang up the problem phone on the base unit for about 30 seconds. If that does not help, remove the battery for a few seconds and try the 30 second hang up again.Try unplugging the base unit for a half minute.I am trying to get it to reset itself and link to the base.Is the second phone part of this system too?We had a Uniden and I personally thought it ended up being garbage and will probably never buy another one.If you end up deciding to buy a new phone, the new technology is DECT 6.0 and is supposed to have better range from the base, clearer sound to name a few things. The strange thing about it is that it operates at 1.9 GHz.Also,if you decide on a new one, google DECT phones. There are all kinds of forums about peoples opinions/ratings of ones they have bought and used for a period of time.If you have any questions, just comment on this post and I will get an auto email saying you posted.Good luck! Phones won't Register!!

It is possible that you have maxed all of the headsets that can connect to the base. Yes, the base can support 10 headsets, but there is a small chance that in some way you registered more to the base or you purchased a base that had phone registered to it that are not in your possession. Either way, if the base is maxed out, you will not be able to register any additional headsets to it. The only option is to do a factory reset of the base unit if this happens to be the case. This is done as follows according to Uniden Tech Support:

1. Disconnect the power from the base

2. hold down the following three (3) keys: [dnd] + [middle soft key] + [*]

3. While holding down the keys, plug in the base (hold the keys down until you hear a long beep). This is supposedly all it takes to reset the phone.

The way to determine the number of hand sets tied to the phone is to press the intercom key on the base and scroll through the list of phones. if you see more than the number you anticipate still being tied to the base, you will have to utilize the above procedure.

Uniden 1725 no dial tone

I had the same problem as long as they are plugged in correctly and you put the #2 handset into the #1 cradle to register it to your base then try hanging the phone up several times. These are expandable phones so that I believe you can keep adding other handsets. So sometimes they think you have a few more handsets than you really have so when you hang up it may not know what handset you are hanging up #1 #2 or #3 #4 etc. So I had to keep hanging them up until it finally hung up. Then I had to re install them so it knew I only had 2 hand sets. So then you start from the beginning, like when you took it from the packaging. I hate these phones. I ended up replacing them with different ones. Plus I always keep a rotery phone laying around put away because during a power outage you still can plug in an old dial phone and it will work! Nothing like old technology.

Problem solved. The little black square was supposed to be put back upside down...This allowed the hand held piece to hang on.

Remove the base by taking out the five screws. Look for the ribbon cable on the left hand side. On each side of the cable is a little brown nub, pull away from the circuit board to release the tension. Pull the ribbon cable out, this will reset the circuit board. Put the ribbon cable back in and push the nubs towards the circuit board. This will add tension to the connection. Put the base back together using the 5 screws. Plug in your phone and you should be set.

Move closer to base

Either the phone is not registered to the base unit or the RF module is broken. It could be a bad battery but unlikely unless very old or you have not charged it. You should check the manual for registering the phone to the base unit.
