Question about Sony Ericsson T68i Cellular Phone

Open Question

My mobile (cellular) phone (nokia 6300) keeps losing reception. This started a few weeks ago - I have had the phone since new for about 4 or 5 months. Can the antenna inside be 'broken'? I'm under the impression it's really just a plate, so i'm wondering if there could be another reason. It's under warranty, but I want to seem to know what I'm talking about when I ask for it to be repaired, especially since it's not a 'black and white' problem.. Thank you very much for any advice.

SOURCE: C902 water damage??

Your suspicions are correct, this is due to water damage. If you ever get water in or on it...promptly take the battery out and put both into a bowl of rice and cover it up. This will draw out any moisture from inside the phone.

If there is still ANY water in it and you try to use it, the phone will short out. You will still get some functionality, but you need to get a new phone.

Sorry about your misfortune, thank you for trying Fixya!

You can go to a consumer court, which is quite easy. I had a similar problem for a phone I had bought, C510. Within one week the USB port became faulty. They refused to replace the phone, but when I said I am going to the consumer court to a call center guy that I had talked to, they had called me up from their side and sent the phone in two days. A new phone.

My service has worked fine for months and i had been using the 50 dollar a month unlimited prepaid plan. 2 weeks ago i changed my plan to the prepaid 30 a month 1500min/text plan instead to save a bit of...

Did you change phones? Sim cards? I am assuming you have the same phone, and they switched out the sim card (or maybe not?) when you changed plans.

Also, all 4G phones are also 3G and 2G phones, and they simply pick the best available. So if you lose 4G coverage, it will simply switch to the wider 3g network and when you're really remote, drop to 2G. This effects data speed primarily, there isn't any qualitative difference between them for voice and text.

It sounds like you might have something screwy with your sim card when the plan changed happened, I would call T-Mobile or visit a store and ask for a new sim card and be vocal about the poor reception after the plan change. Changing plans shouldn't normally effect reception, only changing phones/networks.

I myself experienced reception issues like yours, and the problem was a bad simcard. I'm sorry for the vague answers, but I think your best bet is to go to a T-Mobile store. They should replace the sim card free of charge.

I hve put vidoes on 6300 but it says files not supported

Your phone supports 3gp or mp4 formats for videos. If you are adding videos with any other format, they won't play. You have to convert them in 3gp or mp4 format before using them in your mobile. Google up for free video converters, there are lots of them.

Purchasing a new phone is easy and everyone is always in a hurry to use new phone but never go through the manual properly. You did the same you didn't put the battery on charge for 24 hours. Now to check your phone take another charged battery for nokia put it inside your phone and start it. It will deffinetly work. In order to revive your dead battery keep your battery on charge while the phone is switched off for minimum 24 hours. If it gets revived its ok or else purchase a new one.

Nokia 6300 Some contact names dont show when receiving texts

try entering the (+) plus sign and the country code then the mobile number / editing the numbers of your contacts. such as, a mobile number alone (depending on the sim) that reads as 09178943874 must be edited as +639178943874 (noting that +63 is the country code).
