I have the same problem, it was working fine on my c702, then I did a software update and the m2 stopped showing the files on the phone but they were showing on the pc. After a few restarts and tries both the phone and the pc stopped recognizing it.
Should I take the m2 card out of the phone when doing a software update?

I think your memory card is breaked somewhere
pls check it with your naked eye in bright light
and if problem still not solved try to clean the slot with some thin cloth and also clean the m2 card
reinsert it and if problem not solved try to contact your nearest service centre of sony ericcson

Can i update camera firmware through a printer dock?

Kodak does not suggest a firmware upgrade through a printer dock. Instead, they recommend using an SD card (memory card).

First:
  1. Click Download, then save the firmware file to your computer desktop.
  2. Double-click the *.exe file. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder or accept the default location, then click Unzip. The firmware file unzips to the specified folder.
  3. Note the location of the *.FW file, then close the WinZip Self-Extractor.
Instructions:
  1. If you have pictures/videos on your camera's internal memory or on the memory card, save them to your computer.
  2. Ensure that your camera batteries are fully charged.
  3. Turn off your camera.
  4. Insert the memory card into your computer or into a card reader attached to your computer.
  5. Verify that the memory card has at least 100 MB free space.
  6. On your computer, select the removable drive associated with the memory card or card reader.
  7. If a System folder does not exist on the memory card, create one. From the removable drive window, select File > New > New Folder, then name the new folder System.
  8. Copy the *.FW file from your computer into the System folder.
  9. Remove the memory card from your computer or card reader, then insert it into your camera.
  10. Turn on your camera, then follow the instructions to begin the firmware upgrade. The upgrade takes approximately two minutes to complete.
  11. When "Upgrade was successful" appears on the LCD, select Delete Upgrade File to delete the firmware file from the memory card.
  12. Turn off your camera, then turn the camera on to activate the new firmware.

Importing video files

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

How do I download my pictures from my Sony camera to the computer?

Here is one instructional video tutorial from Sony Support; also could try this procedure:
- Take off your memory stick from your camera and insert it into your memory stick adapter. Open your camera's battery case and gently push the memory stick until you hear a faint "click," then remove it from the camera. Place the memory stick inside the adapter that comes with your camera.
- Insert the adapter into your computer's memory card reader, if you have one. The adapter, which is larger than the memory stick itself, is approximately the same size as an ordinary SD memory card.
- Connect your Sony digital camera to your computer using its USB cable if you can't find or don't have a memory stick adapter. Insert the small end of the USB cable into the camera. Insert the wider, flatter end into one of your computer's USB ports.
- Click "Open Device to View Files" to open your memory stick or camera. Search for the DCIM folder and click on it. Navigate through any photo subdirectories you've created and highlight photos you want to transfer to your computer. Right-click anywhere in a given folder, then click "Copy." Go to the location where you want to store your images, then right-click within that folder. Click "Paste" to transfer your images.

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

How do I download photos from my camera (dsc -s500) onto my computer?

The easiest way is by plugging it in through a usb cable, this camera is probably going to use a micro usb port cord. Another way is to take out the memory card and either to insert it into the memory card reader of your computer if there is one, and if not than a usb card reader can be purchased for a decent price. This reader is than plugged into the usb drive on the computer and when the memory card is inserted into it, the computer should ask what you want to do, you need to open folder to see files, and than just copy the files over into a folder on your PC.

It wants me to format the card

take the card out ..and insert it in a card reader and this way save all the files inside into the computer ..cause formatting the card will erase all the data on it ..
if it asks for formatting it means that it detected some issues in the memory 's alocation units ..and it will not work again until you format it ..If you already have saved the files from the memory card ..just go ahead and format it ...the best choise is to format it in the camera ..but if it do not works..try into the card reader ..just insert it ..than go to my computer folder..right click on the card icon (removable storage device) ..and choose from the list format ..select quick ..and the Fat 32 mode..and ok ..

How to get music on to the 3.0 megapixel Digital Video Camera DXG

refer to your users manual.

The DXG-305V has the ability to play MP3 files. Only song files in the MP3 file
format can be played in the MP3 function. Files on CDs are usually in the
Windows Media format (.wma) or wav format and cannot be played in their
native format; they must first be converted into MP3 files. This can be
accomplished with many types of software which are available at little or no
cost.
Once the songs are in the MP3 format, they can be transferred to the MP3 folder
in the camera’s onboard memory or onto the SD card. This can be
accomplished by one of two ways: 1.) Attach the USB cable to the camera,
select “Mass Storage” and then use your PC to find the removable hard drive
( the camera / SD card). Once located, drag and drop the MP3 files into the MP3
folder. NOTE: Two removable hard drives will be visible if the camera has an SD
card inserted. 2.) The other way is to place the SD card into a card reader,
locate the MP3 folder, and drag and drop the MP3 files into the MP3 folder. The
card can then be re-inserted into the camera.
Once the files are in the MP3 folder, they can be played by rotating the mode dial to the mp3 mode
