I wish to add Ram to my PC which ia an HP pavililion a210n s/n SXR3440108 it currently has DDR 256mb would like to add more at least another 256. cost if you can supply board or advice max size mb & speed Hz Regards Ken Mann

HAI , DDR 256MB IS OK,BUT FREQUENCY IS MUST FOR ADDTIONAL RAM JOIN.THE RAM MUST  SAME FREQUENCY FOR BETTER.

When installing ram i hear a single long repeated beep im trying to install 1gb DDR ram sticks two of them


either you have the wrong ram! for the gateway or your trying to add too much to it gateways only will hold so much before thet reject the ram the machine goes into a over draft in the onboard memory

1st......Operating System?????
2nd.....Run Device manager to ascertain RAM installed
3rd.....Download Sandra Lite to find M/B specs.(Free Download)
4th.....Check if RAM is SODIMM,SDRAM,DDR,etc
5th.....Open PC case to ensure RAM slots available.
6th.....Purchase correct RAM.e.g.128MB->256MB,256MB->512MB,512MB->1024MB
Check to see if RAM slots are paired or not
If paired....2X128MB=256MB
2X256MB=512MB
2X512MB=1024MB
