Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

2 Answers

My whirlpool front loader washing machine WF665/1 is leaking water. Water is leaking from where the powder is loaded from when the cycle begins. The cycle will continue to run its course and only leaks at the filling stage. Can anyone help?

Water leaking in the front

If you have the same problem that I did, then the clamp on the drain hose has slipped, allowing the drain hose to slide down just enough that it leaks water when the washing machine is in the drain cycle. I fixed this problem on my front loader by taking a large hose clamp (the ones that have the screw to tighten them with) and replaced the original clamp. That solved the leak problem for me. If you take the back off of the washing machine, and start a wash cycle, you can see real quick were the water is coming from.

Water leak from front powder/conditioner drawer.

Completely remove the dispenser unit. look inside the recess you have just taken the dispenser drawer from and look up. You will find this is covered in muck. Clean it with an old toothbrush or something but do not use too mush pressure. This should solve your problem. If not then you will need to replace the dispenser unit completely

Leaking water

Water can't leak out the top from overloading unless the entire tub is full of water which is a major malfunction, or an inlet hose between the powder drawer and tub is somehow blocked (extremely unlikely).. Are you using topload detergent? Normal detergent can foam up and out through the drawer and leak onto the floor..
Normally water enters through the top of the powder tray to disperse it into the tub. pull out the tray slightly while filling to see how this works. You might be able to identify that the water is not flowing properly. Normally you can really pack into a front loader, I've been thrilled with my 5100 for 8yrs.
If this doesn't help let me know and I'll suggest next step.
Good luck!

that means that the water is leaking from the hows at the back of the detergent drawer.

This is not a difficult fix, however the washing machine must be taken apart to access the detergent hose and find the leak.

Always better to call a technician.

Suds remaining after wash cycle

Close your faucet valve & unscrew your hoses to check screens on hoses & machine. Clean out well. Refit, check for leaks. Water shd be in good pressure. If this is not the problem change your inlet valve, it is easily done. Suggestion: use powders for front loaders.

Water leaking

There is a small plastic "gate" that is left down for liquid detergent and moved back and up for powder detergent. If this piece is left down and powder detergent is used, the water leaks and the detergent won't go into the washer properly.
