I fixed this myself, I pluged the av cord directly from the sd box into the video input, the scart into the tv dvd, the rca into the video from the sd box then from the video rca to the tv rca, works a treat

What video format does a curtis dvd1098b play by usb

I've had so many issues with trying to figure out what format this thing takes via the USB or SD card ports. I mean, for goodness sake's whatever you do don't give that information in the manual lol

After hours and hours I found that it not only depends on the format but the software. I still don't know exactly what the formats are that this things supports but I did finally find a program that produces avi files that play flawlessly on this thing. It's called "FairUse Wizard"

I just keep most everything to default as I'm clicking through the process. The things I did find that needed to be changed were:

1. Choose "Native Mode"
2. Check the "Use TV Display Mode" box
3. Choose 720x480 (others may work as well but this one always turns out with good quality and the file size is quite resonable)

Hope this saves somebody else the hours I spent pulling my hair out on this thing....

I have skyhd connected to Lght-805sh via optical connection but when i turn sky over from a hd channel to normal channel there is no sound

Hi,

Not sure what you mean by "optical connection" but you need to connect your SkyHD box to your TV using both HDMI and SCART cables. Your Sky HD box will then send the signal via the HDMI cable for the HD channels and the SCART cable for the SD channels.

Hope this helps

You connect up a DVD to a TV via the Audio Visual leads, they go into the Red White, the Audio, & Yellow, the composite Video. In & Out. They wire color to color. Then you select AV on the TV. & press Play on DVD.

I just had the same problem, and I am using rca blue, red and green cables for video. I unplugged them and plugged them back in again a couple times and it finally worked. I have had this problem before with another dvd player, don't know why. Hope this helps.

Hooking up my dvd player

Try an "RF Modulator". It can take in multiple type signals like your cable and dvd and send it to the TV via the coax. The one I have will take in Coax (cable), RCA (left, right & Video) and S-video.

No sound through channels on hdd dvd

If you are taking output from the Red, Green Blue connectors (Component) from your video source and plugging them into your hd dvd recorder, you need a sound channel as well. The S-video carries both audio & video but not in high-definition. Sounds like you've got the 3 channels for your video (RGB-component) connection now you need an audio signal into your HD DVD recorder. That will be 1 fibre connection or 2 cables. Let me know if you get it working & good luck!

Connecting VCR to TV

Oh man dont shoot your stuff instead use your remote and go to your menu and select your input. You tv is looking at your coaxial input but you can select which input you want. 1, 2 front back whatever you need. channell 3 or 4 has nothing to do with connecting up your dvd if you connect and choose the front connection in your menu.

Trying to connect dvd player

You will have to connect your DVD player to the plasma TV, not the cable box. The cable box (or most cable boxes) have video outputs only. The same is true for the DVD player: it outputs the video to the tv.

Look in your DVD manual for scenarios for connecting your player to the tv.

Connecting coaxial cable to dvd-v9700

I was thinking of using the RF modulator box, but in this case, it might not work, since signal should be coming from the cable box. What I dont know if there is a converter for signal from a coaxial cable to an RCA. However, the only way to connect is via RCA.
