Information about how to expand RAM in Acer Aspire 1403LC

Most RAM will work with each other, but the safest way to be sure is by checking the speed. On the stick that is in there now you should see a label that says something like PC2100 DDR. I looked up the specs of your computer and this RAM should work for it.

Can I upgrade the ram on the acer aspire 5630 notebook?

Yes, you can.
You can upgrade your Acer Aspire 5630-6760 Notebook (DDR2-533MHz) Laptop to up to a maximum of 4GB Memory, the system has 2 (2 banks of 1) to install Memory. For best Laptop performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your Laptop.

ComHow to update the ram and what type of ram is needed, how can i make recovery cd.

you will have to consult your original manuals,or press F2 whilst booting to get you into your bios where you may read more information about your ram specs or goto manufacturers site to get this info. There are many types of ram and they are generally classed by their socket type(pin numbers etc) you must find correct type of replacemernt ram including "speed in hz" do not buy any thing untill you are sure you have the corrrect replacement .Tawianese brands are good to buy because they understand the market well(a lot of products pc's being Chinese etc)

I went to Newegg to view the ram for my Acer Aspire One 10.1''. Which brand of module would be best for this model netbook? Thanks. fldtpww@netscape.net

There are three versions of the Acer Aspire One.
Look on the bottom of your Acer, and see which model number it is.

ALL of the Acer Aspire One netbooks, have One ram slot.

For the Maximum TOTAL Amount of ram that each model number will use,

The A110 model number uses a 1GB stick, of PC2-5300 SO-DIMM ram module.

The D150 model number uses a 2GB stick of PC2-5300 SO-DIMM ram module.

The D250 model number uses a 2GB stick of PC2-5300 SO-DIMM ram module.

Not to offend, to help.
If you are not familiar, with what a SO-DIMM style of ram module is, and/or you are not familiar with what PC2-5300 is, I suggest you buy your ram from Crucial.com

Installing Acer 5315 series memory

Laptops use a different type of RAM unlike a tower computer, the RAM is like little square pieces. Unscrew the cover, lift the old RAM out and replace with the new. Its located on the back or underside of the computer.

Can't upgrade an Acer Aspire 3000 notebook to 2 gb

Thanks for choosing fixya.com

Your not alone in this type of problem. When it comes to computer (laptop especially) they usually have a "Max allowed ram" most times its listed in the back of the manual in small print. Its a way to keep people buying new computers (if your into the conspiracy theories)
Chances are even a bios upgrade would not fix your problem. Mostly BIOS upgrades add support for new boot options, plug and play support, and fixes to bugs in older versions.

You can check aspires/acers website for updates www.acer.com
If they have an update it will comes with documentation as to what the update does.

Hope this helps you out.
