Question about Acer AL1916W 19" LCD Monitor
I have a slight reddish tint to my screen. If I try to auto configurate it, it goes back to normal for a few seconds and then back to the red. There was a recent thunderstorm and I didn't use the computer on that day.
Amazingly enough my monitor did the same thing and while looking for the serial number the problem got resolved. Since I don't know exactly how it got fixed I will tell you what I did. I turned the monitor off, removed the power cord from the unit, turned the surge protector off and back on, placed the monitor face down on my chair to read the serial number, reconnected the power cord and turned the unit back on. The problem was fixed. Go figure.

Most later displays are provided with a driver written by the maker that will allow you to tweak color balance. You should find this by going to the Control Panel, then Display, then Settings, then Advanced. If you have Acer's driver installed (or Windows has had it in its library), there should be a color chart that will allow you to set the color to your satisfaction.
