I have replaced the lamp for Epson EMP -S3

I HAVE REPLACED THE LAMP BUT I STILL HAVE THE RED LIGHT ON WHEN I PUT IT ON. WHAT SHOULD I DO

  • Anonymous Dec 02, 2008

Mine has the very same thing. I replaced the bulb but the lamp keeps flashing red. I called Epson and the unit is out of warrenty. They suggested I get the exact purchase date and call them back. They will provide service technician name in our area but it is up to us to pay for it. I'm hoping I do not have to go that route.

I had this same issue... until i read page 63 of the epson manual: http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/pls3__/pls3__u1.pdf where it says that the cover has to be put back on for it to work.I was 'testing' it without the cover and it give the same lamp flashing red light indicator.

SOURCE: After i replaced the lamp on my epson emp tw700,

My tw-700 warning light was flashing red (1sec) and this is what I did to fix it.

Take the top cover of the projector, you will see the PCB on top of everything.
Remove the PCB, be careful when disconnecting the ribbon cables.
Looking from the rear of the projector, you will see a metal bar held on by
2 black screws just in front of the lamp. remove this bar which is holding in a
small plastic door that has glass in the middle.
Remove this plastic door and lubricate the bottom of it with some high temp
grease. now put it all back together and with a bit of luck and if you plugged
everything back in properly, it should work.

This worked for my red light problem anyway, hope it helps you.

After switch on green button is blinking and within few seconds the Red bulb relating to lamp is blinking. No screen is appear and also i cant switch off it using power button.

Possible that the lamp is faulty and will need a replacement.
To confirm remove panel and take out the lamp for inpection. make sure that the filters are clean too. if you notice any particles in the lamp , it is confirmed for sure.
If not replace one(get help from dealer) to confirm the test.

There is a little safety switch on one of the lids of the lamp cover.
this safety switch was bend but was still giving contact, when the lamp heated up, this switch was opened and the projector came in a safety mode, which turned of the lamp.
Bending this back solved the problem
