Question about Sony KP-53HS30 53" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Open Question

Burn-in? I've had this Sony tv for over 5 years and i got it hooked to the HD cable box, when the TV gets any HD signal instantly goes into "widescreen" mode with black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.. I really tend to watch more HD channel, which means the TV's gotta be on "widescreen" mode for longer periods of time, but the other day i was watching something on full screen and i notice that the place where the black bars appear is whiter than the rest of the screen, which makes me think i may have burn-in in the middle of it... Is there any way to fix burn-in? And also how can i change the color of the bars? I don't want them black

I have a Sony Bravia led digital kdl32m4000 tv, I am upgrading my satellite box to hd will I get the signal in hi def. or do I need to upgrade my tv?

No you don't need a new tv. Hook up your HD cable box using HDMI cable. Hdmi out on your cable box then hdmi in on your tv. You need your tv remote to change source input to hdmi.

Have a Panasonic TH-37PX60U tv - can I hook it up to a HD Satellite receiver - have a Bell hd but don't get any reception

Your plasma tv will display HD content when you connect an HD source (Blu Ray Disk, Sony PS3 / PS4 or Xbox 360, HD Cable Box, HD satellite, etc) via the TV's HDMI1, HDMI2, Component1, Component2 jacks or if you connect a UHF/VHF TV antenna (not cable box, etc.) to the "Ant" connector *and* you're close enough to a broadcaster with HD content to view.

Using any other input will produce only the lesser quality SD video signals. Review the manual - linked below - to help you connect the components you have.

Sony str-dg820. having a problem getting video on tv

Hook up Composite / Component Monitor Out wire from receiver to TV video input because receiver will not change analog input into HDMI
You need to connect receiver and TV through analog video terminals as above.
Actually you are expecting that receiver will convert DVD player and Xbox analog video input into digital HDMI signal for TV and This is incorrect.

Sound cuts out- cable tv

I had the same problem when I installed the new HD Comcast cable box (DCH3200), initially with my CRT through RF, then with my HDTV through HDMI. Problem solved when I replaced the box with the Comcast RNG110 I got from my local Comcast. It is a neat miniaturized box and it works extremely well on HD. There is no power switch on the box so before activation do not forget to put it on with the remote (cable, power, the green light will come on).

Connecting HD cable box to DVR too HDTV

When I hooked up my HD cable box using an HDMI cable, I had to go into the cable screen menus and select HDMI output. You may have to do something similar when using an S-video cable. Your DVD recorder doesn't seem to have an HDMI input, so you'll have to use the S-video or (worst case) composite video (red, white, yellow cords). Your cable box may also be scrambling the signal so that you can't record. That may be why you can record by bypassing the cable box.
