You need two more speakers to get surround sound,ie> two front one center and two for surround, then you need a home cinema amp to run the speakers and decode the sound from your tv,sky, dvd etc,and the sub gives you your bass.

Hope this helps.

CABLE GUY.

How do I connect jbl psw1200 sub?

Well, it depends what you're connecting it to....

If it's a stereo receiver or Hi-Fi amp, then the speaker cables that would normally go direct to the front L & R speakers now connect to the sub's L&R speaker OUT sockets. Then you need two extra lengths of speaker cable. These go from the receiver's speaker outs to the sub's L&R speaker IN sockets.

Connecting to a surround receiver, just use the phono/RCA cable from the receiver's "Sub Pre Out" to the white phono/RCA labeled Low Level IN.

Problems with JBL PSW D110

The speaker level input option is designed for receivers that don't have digital output for the sub, used this way when you set to digital the speaker outputs only get the higher range outputs so won't reproduce much bass. To get the sub to work in digital mode you need to use the digital output (single RCA) from the amp to the sub

I just bought a jbl sub150 surround sound. my question is does it need a recevier to work or do the little speakers plug into back of sub

Didn't it come with a manual?

Of course it needs external electronics to provide sound sources, controls, bass management AND amplification for the other speakers. It's just a sub.

If you go to Manual setup/ select speaker setup/ select bass setting/ does it show LFE? If it does it is sending to main speakers only and you'll need to change to LFE+Main.

I dont know how to connect a JBL PSW-D115 into my receiver

Connect the receiver's Subwoofer Line Out to the Sub's Line In with a single RCA cable.

Not knowing your specific receiver I can only advise that you get into its setup and 1) tell it you have a subwoofer; 2) set the other speaker types you have regarding Large vs Small (meaning can they handle REAL bass); 3) go through all the channel level setup; 4) Rock On.

Recommend cables to connect TV to Surround Snd speaker system.

Monster Cable RCA Cables are generally the best, they produce great sound while at the same time reducing the low frequency dirty power noise..

Is it possible 2 connect altec ada995 to sony KDF 50E300 52 in TV

I was in the same situation you are in when I got my new computer. Provantage sells this little adapter: http://www.provantage.com/logitech-970150-0403~7LGTC96V.htm

The only problem is, since the genius who made this model didn't put an external volume control on the speakers, there is no way to control the volume. they operate at full blast. which is, as you know, heart stopping. to combat this problem i used another adapter I found at radio shack(http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103710) and plug it into my tv's headphone jack.

hope this helps. If you find another way to control the volume PLEASE let me know.

JBL S312 lacks "punch" in bass response

Dear friend....Why you dont join to my proyect???? See? I love my JBL s312 II .

I been getting drunk on them many times. And They have served Very well.

After 5 years of critical listening....i started hearing some descoloration just in 5% of my music. The Bass was an issue for me..i mean the same problem. After all this time I decided..what the hell...let me open these babies and let me see what are they made of.

To My Surprice......I saw a mother board with a very poor components.....I was so mad.But...wait a sec....They have served well all these years...I could not get rid of them like that....Well?

I got in touch with a guy over the internet. He told me that MY crossover components are bad. basically....capacitors of 2 dollars,and...inductors of 5 dollars....yes yes yes (Shame On You JBL)

Anyway....basically...I am Upgrading the same crossover same values with better components....I have not done yet but I already have all the pieces and components.I will let you know how it goes.
It can no go bad....see? Same components......just better quality that's all.

Like the orange juice....sunny delight vs tropicana my friend....

In this case.... Electrolitic capacitors vs Polypropylene capacitors = image,authority,performance.Dinamics.

Now to be honest...I dont know yet the results ok..because I have to put all the parts together. But In Theory...is 100% accurate.

Better components better results. If I were you.....and dont want to take this huge steps like me....Just take the crossover and change the capacitors to a better one( Polypropilene capacitors)
And you will for real heard improvement.
