Known Issue with Inkjet Printers :
Prints blank or missing colors after a cartridge replacement (original ink or not).

Usual Troubleshooting :
1. Re-seating the ink cartridges.
2. Cleaning the contacts in the printer as well as in the ink cartridges.
3. Performing repeated-until-you-run-out-of-ink print head cleaning on the printer maintenance of from the computer.
4. Ink Cartridge replacement.
5. Go for warranty ASAP
6. Repeat step 1 if Out Of Warranty or Service that costs more than buying a new one.

Remarks:
Sometimes the troubleshooting 1 to 4 works.

After u install the cartridge .u have to clean the cartridge by giving the --clean printhead command-- through your pc.do this cleaning 3-4 times. then try to print it should work. if it still does not come it is quite possible that the head in which the cartridges r installed is clogged and needs cleaning.the printhead has very tiny holes in it from where the ink comes out for printing and if this head is blocked it is quite possible that the printout may nocome.this heads gets blocked because of the waste ink collected in the remains for long time and gets stiff and that stiff particles of ink get stuck up in the holes of the head.sometimes normal cleaning helps cleaning these heads but if the head does not gets cleaned manually taking it to the service center is the another option for deep internal cleaning.if there also it does not get repair.instead of buying the new head replacing the printer is good option. as u r not the only person facing this problem .there r many such like u who r facing this problem mostly in epson and cannon printers. thanks.

You should have the option to clean the jets and the rollers in the printers software, you may have repeat the process a good few times before the ink comes through to standard

Solution for the same :-

1. First of all Confirm that the recommended ink cartridges are installed properly MX310.

If Its fine than,

2. One of the methods might be :

* Print the nozzle check pattern.

If the print qauality is not clear or no colour than , perform print head cleaning. If that wld not work, perform print head deep cleaning .

If its still persists follow the last shot :-

Perform A Manual Print Head Alignment (Windows) MX310.

1. Make sure that the machine is on, and then load two sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.

2. Open the Paper Output Tray, then set the Paper Thickness Lever.

(1) Put your finger in the rounded indent beside the Paper Output Tray and open it gently.

(2) Open up and set the Output Tray Extension completely by pressing down the hollow on its front side.

(3) Set the Paper Thickness Lever to the left.

3. Print the print head alignment pattern.

(1) Open the printer properties dialog box.

(2) Click the Maintenance tab and then Print Head Alignment.

(3) Confirm the displayed message and click Print Head Alignment.
The print head alignment pattern is printed.

(4) After the pattern is printed, click Yes

4. Adjust the print head position.

(1) Check the printed patterns and select the number of the pattern in column A that has the least noticeable streaks.

(A) Less noticeable vertical white streaks

(B) More noticeable vertical white streaks

(C) Less noticeable horizontal white streaks

(D) More noticeable horizontal white streaks

(2) Repeat the procedure until you finish inputting the pattern number for column L, then click OK.

(3) When the confirmation message is displayed, click OK.

The second pattern is printed.

(4) Check the printed patterns and select the number of the pattern in column M that has the least noticeable streaks.

In the same way in step (1), select the number.

(5) Repeat the procedure until you finish inputting the pattern number for column R, then click OK.

(6) When the confirmation message is displayed, click OK

I hope this wld solve the issue :)

Make sure the colour and the black cartridge is connected to the appropriate holder.

Also before connecting the cartridge make sure you have removed the cover.

Clean any dirt in the nozzle area with a soft cloth

Thanks

Color ink is coming out blue

That means the colour cartridge has failed, as only one of the three colours are working. Try running a head cleaning routine, that may clear it, but don't do too many as it will use up all of your ink.

You may need to replace the colour cartridge. The following YouTube video shows you how to change the cartridge.

I have an Canon IP4000 printer that is not printing black text. It is printer colour but not black. I have replaced all the ink cartridges but only colour is working. Please help!!

pretty familar with that printer and if you have new cartridge check the head cleaner. If you clean the heads a couple of times that might unclog the black cartridge. Check inside your settings. I know you can turn the color completely off with that model but am not sure if you can turn the b+w off.

No 'clay' colour. canon pixma i 4200

I'm afrade I don't know what you mean by "Clay Colour".

For a Canon, usually you have Black, Magenta, Cyan and Yellow and you MAY have Photo Magenta and Photo Cyan depending on the machine.

Print out a test page and tell me what colour is missing from that page (compair it to the one in your owners manual or the driver).

Usually a missing colour is caused by a clogged head. Use the cleaning function over and over (try at least five times). If still not working, either the head is very badly clogged, has gone bad, or the purge unit is not working. Please make sure you are using OEM ink cartridges, as I have seen refill ink cause this exact problem.'

Try soaking the bottom of the head in water overnight (not the entire head, just the bottom part). If this does not work, you will either have to replace the head or disassemble and clean the purge unit. I'd start by cleaning the purge unit since it's free. If you're not sure, call your local service provider. They can test it using a known good head but it's likely not a free service.
