Hold button down for 5 seconds to switch off. The switch on and press F8 and choose safe mode boot. If it boots try a repair option or system restore to a previous working state

I have a sony vaio flat screen computer and I lost My administrator password, so I want to reset my computer and start all over again.

Hi,

I believe that you can no longer reset your admin password because you will still need for a password reset. Best option is to delete that account in a safe mode and here's how.

1. restart your pc
2. press f5 before the windows logo appear
3. put it on a safe mode to run windows
4. Press start menu on the bottom left
5. go to control panel
6. go to user accounts
7. delete account
8. Create another acount

Hope this helps.

This seems to be one of the worst viruses that won't let you do anything on the computer, so follow the instructions on this link.

How do I remove my DVD burner for replacement from my Sony VAIO PCV-RS720G? I get the two little screws out from the side, but then something hangs it up. Can't find what the hang up is. Thanks. Segalhund...

Segalhund, I appreciate your wanting a solution, but please refrain from stating your email addy.

There are three screws.
Facing the back of the computer.

One at the Top in the middle of the case cover.

One down on the Right side, straight across from where the monitor plugs into.

One down on the Left side straight across from where the monitor plugs into.

The cover is shaped like a hood, and slides towards the front of the computer.

I'm looking at the User Manual for the Sony Vaio PCV-RS720 Desktop PC right now.

This is Sony eSupport, and the download page for the Vaio PCVRS720G User Manual,

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=PCV-RS720G&region_id=1

On this page left-click on Manuals, Specs, Warranty. (In blue to the upper right of the page)

On this page under the heading - Manuals -
left-click on - VAIO User Guide - in the list.

This is a PDF file. It may take as much as 30 seconds before you see the first page. Suggest you let it download all the way before looking through it.

Page 87 shows removing the cover.

I can not reset my windows password

This only works if your account isn't already the "Administrator" account. It will work if your account is just an account with administrator rights.
Boot into Safe Mode, log in as Administrator, change your password:
1) Turn off your computer.
2) Turn it back on while repeatedly tapping the "F8" key.
3) Use your arrow keys to select the option to boot to Safe Mode and press Enter.
4) In Safe Mode, log in as the Administrator
5) Open the Control Panel
6) Go to User Accounts
7) Click on your account
8) Click on "Change the password"

Sony Vaio PCV-RS710G wont start up

one of the files in the system32 directory in the windows folder is corrupt, the files in the system32 folder contains vital files for the boot procedure, try to start the machine in "safe mode" by pressing F8 after the sony boot screen, if it allows you into the operating system you will need to choose "system Restore" take the time back to at least a week before your problems started DO NOT CREATE A RESTORE POINT
