This is hard without knowing the specifics, but these fans can be wired to be on all the time, or controlled by the thermo-switch, or even electrically controlled by a logic board. You may have a stuck Thermo-switch or a bad logic board, since to fail shorted is the standard failure mode (for a Triac).

I have a colemand inverter that is brand new from the box and i installed it and the fan just contstantly stays on

you may need more ventilation space around it,or it just might run all the time because it is under load, check the spec book

The fan at the back of my inverter is running continuously, can you please let me know what might be the problem and how to fix it

If you have it pushed against someting or have too many things around it, it may not be getting enough air to keep cool. That will cause fan to keep running to keep inverter cool.

Does the Vector Power Inverter VEC040 have an internal fan?

No they do not have any internal cooling devices. they rely on ventilation alone.
I will suggest that you read up on reviews for this item if you are thinking of buying one.
They have not gotten great reviews.

Hello, I hear you. Was the reason to supply 240 volts? When you try the inverters separately, do you get 120Volts output? Let us look at the units working individually first and go from there.

I have a vector VEC051C 3000 Watt inverter, the vent fans run continously without load, can it be modified to cool only when, the temperature increases..

If it has a 12 volt fan, you can replace it with one designed for computers that has a built-in thermistor. These fans will automatically increase or decrease their RPM depending on the ambient temperature. I have seen them in 70,80,120mm sizes. As long as the inverter is on, you do not want the fan to ever be completely off because even without load some heat is generated and can build up inside if no ventilation is present. Although the fan will never completely turn off, this might be the easiest solution if your goal is to make the inverter quieter (and use less energy) when not in use.

I have a black and decker inverter type 1 400

First, you should be aware that the exact inverter is available for under 40 dollars all over the US. Your model is sold under several names - check out .

I suspect that your INPUT power level is not adequate for the inverter to put out the 200W that the 150W charger needs. If you have low current and low voltage - then the inverter can only put out a proportionally smaller AC wattage level. You may also have a faulty voltage the input. Once the inverter sees a low level (even momentarily), it alarms and shuts down the output until the unit is reset (turned off/back on)

The fans no longer turn on and the inverter shuts

YOu can replace the small fans and it will work fine. Go to newark, com and they have very small cooling fans like that.Same ones that computers have for cooling. You will have to open things up and get some numbers and dimensions.
