I have an LG dvd/cd dual layer burner

Last week, I found that all my e-mails had disappeared from thunderbird along with all my addresses.

Then today I went to use my player and found that it has been removed from my computer also. It shows up in the system properties under dvd players, but it says the drivers may be corrupt as I also have another cd/dvd burner as well. I have tried to find new drivers but am unsure of the model of my burner. I do have the disc but that is useless when the burner doesn't even work.

I have done an anti-virus scan and nothing came up to indicate a problem, I was wondering if someone had managed to hack into my system, as my msg on msn that lets ppl know what u r up 2, had also been changed.
