Without a model number, it's difficult to tell you exactly how to resolve this issue. What you need to do is make sure that your modem is set to bridge mode. You'll need to plug directly into the modem, access the web interface that it uses (usually 192.168.0.1 or something similar) and set it to function as a bridge instead of a router. You should disable DHCP as well, but before you do that make sure you know how to do a full reset of the modem so that it will return to factory settings because disabling DHCP makes it tricky to access the web interface which means if you need to access it again later, you'll need to do a full reset.

This modem does not save settings. Like when you open your nat. How do i update my firmware

Check the latest firmware updates at www.belkin.com/support.

Or simply, access the setup page of the Belkin router (192.168.2.1), go to Utilities > Firmware update. Click on the Check firmware button.

Then click the download link. And save the firmware on your desktop.

In the firmware update screen, click browse and locate the firmware from your desktop.

Then click the Update button. Click OK to continue with upgrading.

I hope this helps!

After changing the settings on modem have you selected "save and reboot" even after save and reboot is done the settings were unable to save, it means there was an problem with your modem itself its unable to save the settings.

I need the drivers for my router its the WRT54G

There are no "drivers" for routers. There is firmware. You can go to the routers setup page, and check for firmware updates.
The firmware is downloaded and installed from a wired computer connection to the router.
The linksys website is here.

I have a zyxel p600 series modem connected to a Belkin wireless router. I am trying to run a web server on port 80. The modem was using port 80 for access to the internal settings. I changed that to...

Your setup looks correct to me. It might very well be that your ISP is blocking port 80. Go here and check from your server if port 80 is accessible.

If you are the only one that wants to connect to you server, you can simply choose another port to use, i.e. www.myserver.com:801. Set port forwarding form port 80 to 801 in your router.
TCP&UDP - from 801 - to 80 - [serverIP] - [Webserver]

The better way is to use a service like DynDNS.com or No-IP.com. You can register a DNS name (like myserver.dyn.com), which redirects to your public IP. The trick is to update your IP address, so even if you have a dynamic IP assigned from your ISP, the redirect will point always to your server. Most routers have the ability to set up with DynDNS, so the process runs in the background and you don't have to update manually - check your router manual.

The second part of this beauty is the redirect to a different port. So even if your port 80 (and 25 for that matter) are blocked, you don't have to have an arbitrary number in your URL (http;//myserver.com:801). You can find more detailed information here.

For a quick check, change your webserver to run on port 801, enter the redirect in your router and see if you can get to your server from the outside (internet). If you still can't access the webserver, the problem is not a blocked port.

Hope this helps, but if you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help you figuring this out.

No 'Status' light on the modem

First of all, who owns the modem? If the ISP provided it and charges a monthly fee as part of your service, have them replace it and set it up. Problem solved!

If it's yours however, the surge may have damaged the LAN port, turning it into a brick, and you'll need to find a replacement. There is the possibility though, that the settings have just gotten corrupted. If that is the case, defaulting the unit will allow you to access the modem's admin page and re-configure (you must know the default IP address). Defaulting to factory is usually a matter of disconnecting power for 30 seconds or so, holding the reset button, usually accessible through a small hole with a toothpick or paper clip, and plugging the power back in while holding the button.

Good luck!

HELP PLEASE ASAP

OK well I think it is better to set it up like this... Connect the Modem to the Phone Line, Connect the Modem to the Router with an Ethernet Cable, Use a CABLE connection from the Main PC to the Router. (Ya gonna ditch the USB WiFi) Set that Main PC connection up to connect to the internet from the Main PC, thru Router thru Modem.... Then from Slave, install the USB adapter in this PC, and use this to connect DIRECTLY to the WiFi Router... and thus to the internet. This way will give the best transfer rates, and reliability
