SOURCE: RCA 27 inch ColorTrak Plus. TV is hooked to cable.

The failure with this TV is due to faulty ground in the tuner that is why when you wiggle the cable connected to the tuner the picture clears up. If this failure is not repair, it will corrupt the data on the eprom until the TV will not power ON anymore.
Check the info from this link to find more info on the failure of your TV.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

How do I program a rca color trak plus tv model F27676BC for a dvd player

You should not have to "program" it but the Color Trak is a very old set and likely only has (if any) the yellow (composite video) and red and white audio jacks on the back.

This means the DVD must have the same colored jacks with composite output----if its only RED_GREEN_BLUE (Component) it will not work--a lot of them did have for a while both types of output

Let me know if you have questions--The Color Track must be from the 1980's or 1990's. (Date is on the back)

DVD PLAYER to TV HOOKUP

57b6c82.jpg

Basic DVD player hookup to TV cable diagram. RCA cable (yellow) video and RCA cables (white and red) audio. This is all you need for picture and sound. If your TV only has a single RF input, then you need a RF modulator. RF modulators accept the yellow, white and red cables and output a coaxial cable to the TV single input jack. Usually the TV is tuned to channel 3 or 4 to pickup the RF modulators output.

Alternative connection options are many and include HDMI for HDTVs, component video and for sound, surround sound digital audio connection using optical or coaxial digital audio cable.

Surround sound requires a decoder such as a A/V receiver with Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS 5.1 or more. 6 speakers connected to the A/V receiver surrounds the listener.

Bluray players will play DVDs and Bluray discs. Bluray gives you High Definition video and typically connects to a HDTV using a HDMI cable.

Hookup diagram for Yamaha avr-863 receiver

It's the other way around.

Hook up the Cable box to the Amp; and the blu-ray to the amp, then connect amp to LCD.

you want to use the best available options for audio:
HDMI > Digital Optical > Digital Coax > standard RCA

And the similar for video:
HDMI > Component > SVideo > RCA cables

I would connect Blu-Ray via HDMI to Amp, and Cable box via HDMI to Amp. If your cable box does NOT support HDMI, but you have an HD package, ask your cable company for an upgraded box.

Problem hooking up DVD player to TV thru my cable box

Chances are you've got your DVD player hooked to OUPUT jacks on the cable box, not inputs. I haven't yet seen a box that takes any kind of an input other than the cable line, but they will have RCA jacks for audio and video outputs on the back. So your cable channels are fine, but the DVD signal is hitting a dead end.

The only solution if your TV doesn't have RCA inputs for video and audio is to get an RF converter (around $10-$20). This takes the A/V signals from your DVD and turns them into a channel 3 or 4 signal that connects to your TV's antenna input.

The converter also has a connector on the back for the cable coming from the cable box, since you'll have to disconnect that from the TV. When the DVD player is off, the cable box signal gets passed to the TV as normal. Turn on the DVD player and the RF converter switches on; put your set on channel 3 or 4 and you'll see your video.

One final thing: The converter will need an AC outlet for its power adapter or power cord, so make sure you have a spare. If you don't already have your TV and DVD player connected to one, this would be a good time to pick up a surge-protector outlet strip. Then not only will you have enough outlets, you'll be protecting your equipment as well.

If this solution has given you what you need, please take a moment to rate it appropriately. And thanks for asking here!

Tuner won't go above Channel # 99?

Most cable boxes that go past 99 are digital channels and require the cable box to tune them in. You can always set the cable box to the station you want and hookup the rca output to your DR4 rca input and record from that. Their is no other work around for this because the DR4 has an analog tuner inside of it and your cable box is a digital turner.
