Question about Coby DVD-514 DVD Player

Power light is yellow when it should be green

When I plugged in the dvd player the power light lit up yellow. It should have been green. The information panel did not light at all and the buttons do not work. The power light is yellow so I would think it is getting power.

Gateway yellow power button, nothing starts, no fan, nothing. opened up computer and see mobo led light is lit. newton ps has a test button. tried to test with various components plugged in and the test...

Power supply has several voltages. Just because the 5v power is active doesn't mean all the voltages are OK. You need to have the power supply tested for 12v and 3.3v. A quick test is to unplug all the wires from the power supply. There is a single green wire on the motherboard main plug. Connect (use a bent paper clip) that green switch wire and any black wire. Plug in the power supply and it should run (fan starts)

TV won't work after storm

ok lets try this hit the power button on the DVD player some go into stand by mode and when power is interrupted you have to push the button manually also reset the surge protector next get a lamp that you know works and unplug the tv and plug the lamp into the socket where the TV was plugged into turn on the lamp, does it turn on? yes then something wrong with TV again may have been in stand by mode plug back in and try pushing the power switch on make sure the TV if it has a remote is on the right im put to get a picture say like a satellite or cable or DVD player. hope this helps.

CyberHome DVD player not responding...

The internal power supply has failed and is shutting down each time you try to turn it on. To remove your DVD there is a slot on the bottom labeled: Emergency.... with an arrow pointing the direction you need to push a lever to open the drawer. With good lighting you'll see the tab you need to slide over. Use a small flat blade screwdriver and the drawer will open enough to grasp it and pull it open. The power supply will need to be repaired, but it may have caused other damage and may be more expensive than buying a new player.
