Question about Apple iPhone 3G
Hello ginko i wondering if you could help me. i have an intel imac and an iphone 3g which 'was' jailbroken. when i was playing on an app 'downloaded from the jailbreak software (cydia was what i downloaded it from)'. the screen went blank and the spinning icon appeared. a few minutes later the apple logo appeared. i waited a while, 'maybe about 20-30 mins'... and then i held the home and power button reseting the phone. still the apple logo stayed on the screen even after 20 mins. so i put it into DFU mode and of course itunes loaded up on my computer as expected. so i thought screw jailbreaking it coz its already messed up my phone so much. i just want to restore it to what it was like when i first got it. (obviously i would load the apps i downloaded from the apps store later on and my music and such) but when i click restore it says....the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2006). ... i'm so sorry my story has gone on for so long but any help will be greatly appreciated.
The only thing I can think, is that you got hold of a bad package cause my iphone edge did the same thing. When restoring make sure to let iTunes download the firmware so that you dont get an uncompatable version of firmware and get a head splitting head ache like i did, i downloaded the 3G firmware off the net only to relized almost three hours later that that version of the 3.0 firmware cant be loaded on the edge.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You can use the safari browser on your phone and go to http://www.jailbreakme.com/ and it will download and jailbreak your phone. Once completed you will have Cydia on your phone.
