I recently started getting all kinds of problems with my LG KEYBO (9100):
    - It has a 1000 character text limit but suddenly stopped allowing me to send texts over 140 characters in length.

    - I get an error message when I try to get on the Net.
    - A message (which I didn't create) sometimes appears in the drafts section. Sometimes it can't be erased (I get: "Picture msg failed to be erased" on the screen), and sometimes it seems to work when I erase it, but then I see that it's still there, and I can't even open it.

    Can anyone PLEASE help me?
    Thank you!

My android Samsung phone will not send sms to one contact but it will send mms what's wrong

It means that the person you are sending to either has an older phone that will not accept multimedia messages or that there contract plan does not include MMS. If it is the other way around, you need to contact your cellphone provider, unless your texts are over 140 characters..

Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a standard way to send messages that include multimedia content to and from mobile phones over a cellular network. Users and providers may refer to such a message as a PXT, a picture message, or a multimedia message.[1] The MMS standard extends the core SMS (Short Message Service) capability, allowing the exchange of text messages greater than 160 characters in length. Unlike text-only SMS, MMS can deliver a variety of media, including up to forty seconds of video, one image, a slideshow of multiple images, or audio.
The most common use involves sending photographs from camera-equipped handsets.[citation needed] Media companies have utilized MMS on a commercial basis as a method of delivering news and entertainment content, and retailers have deployed it as a tool for delivering scannable coupon codes, product images, videos, and other information.
The 3GPP and WAP groups fostered the development of the MMS standard, which is now continued by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA).

Why are my emoticons not showing up on my phone and why when I send one text to someone, they receive more than one, sometimes four?

If you send a long message it will be sent as multiple messages. I think te message length is about 140 characters. If your message is longer than that it will be broken into 140 character chunks, resulting in several messages.

My phone is sending every text message that I send out through SMS and it splits up my text message on the other end how do I stop this

SMS stands for SMALL Message System.

If you texts are as long as emails, they will be broken up. Long messages should go via email. Contact your carrier to ask what their character limit is on SMS. It should be 160 max.
160 characters Sending email to SMS is free for the sender, but the recipient is subject to the standard delivery charges. Only the first 160 characters of an email message can be delivered to a phone, and only 160 characters can be sent from a phone. Text-enabled fixed-line handsets are required to receive messages in text format.

Why is my brand new Alcatel phone putting in strange symbols when I send a text if its more than 160 characters?

My Samsung cell phone limits me to 140 characters so this is not unheard of. I split my messages to under 140 and ask people who need to write a veritable epistle to do so by email because my phone cuts vital pieces when it chops messages up on receipt.

SMS protocol is limited to 160 character texts. You could use abbreviations on your messages or send two or more texts

I have a nokia c5 and when someone sends me a sms that is longer than one part, it comes through as separate texts, how do i fix this?

That cannot be fixed. SMS text messages are limited to 160 characters each. When the message exceeds 160 characters, it is automatically broken into separate texts. It's just the way SMS works.

NEED MORE THAN 160 CHARACTERS FOR TEXTING WITH MY SAMSUNG INSTINCT S30. IS ANYTHING OUT THERE?

160 character limit is 1) a limit of SMS not the phone 2) Your phone should be able to send multiple texts or SMS messages if your character count goes over the 160 limit. I know my iPhone allows for it but my Blackberry Storm does not. You might think about using email to send larger messages as a whole.

Text Length

Some phones have a character limit. If its well past the limit its likely not to send at all due to size or only sending as much as it can.

There are no hacks or settings to fix this sort of problem.

Sorry and thank you for choosing Fixya!
