You should see an option to phone a Microsoft Customer Representive. Use this option and state what country you are in from the pull down list and choose the toll free number for your counrty.

It is a pain in the ar$e process (the whole activation thing) but if you are having problems with the online activation, phoning this number and having your 25 digit Windows serial number will hopefully put you right.

All the best.

You cannot download Windows XP unfortunately. You may be able to purchase a copy on Ebay. You will need your own installation key which should be on a sticker attached to your PC.

My router cannot connect to the internet and asking for a certificate.

I guess you are using Mocrosft XP Service Pack2 on your system.

This is a problem since WPA2 security protocol requires an update to Windows XP SP2.

You have two options :

1. Visit Microsoft site and download the security update for WAP2
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893357

2. You can upgrade the XP service pact to SP3 which has the certificate inside it.

Best Regards

I have a dell machine and i got windows xp cd with sp3 with it but i cant activate the key or make it genuine

Your CD is not a "Genuine" Dell OEM CD, that is why you need to activate the OS.

You can buy an original Dell OEM CD for your PC which do not need activation and passes Misrosoft Update validation.

Xp service pack 3 key

Hi,

There is no "key" for SP3, its just an update.

Just click on the start menu and perform a Windows/Microsoft Update to install SP3 and then perform another update to update SP3.

Regards.

I wan't the product key for service park 2

I recommend you to Purchase a key. Its good in the perspective of System Security and Stability. You will be able to get Online updates(Patches, Other Security Updates) as well as Online Customer Support with Upgraded Software. From here you can do that easily. Windows XP Home Page. If you just want an Upgrade to your Previous product, then Just download and install the Service Pack2 (Now its time to upgrade with SP3 after you have upgraded to SP2. But still SP3 have compatibility issues with Hardware, Drivers and Applications) SP2 SP3 ISO
However if you do not want to install a Pirate Version or need a Corporate key (Fixya does not Recommend Piracy), browse here. Alternate Link.
Please be kind enough to rate the answer if it solves the issue. Feel free to contact me if you need further instructions. Thanks for Contacting Fixya!

Product key forr windows xp service pack 3

This sounds like your original product key is either fake or has been hijacked and distributed though the net. Microsoft have a database of keys that are not REAL keys and ones that have been shared out over multiple PC's.

It may have been working ok in Service Pack 2 as the copy protection that checks the key has been removed or disabled. So putting on Service Pack 3 has reenabled the key checker or has put a new product key checker in.

As any windows platform can be upgraded and the key will still work. So going from SP2 to SP3 will be ok if the product key is legit.

First double check your key id a real key. It will be on a holographic or green sticker that if removed from where it is stuck will come off in little pieces and not be readable.

If you believe your key is legit then you can contact Microsoft through their site and request a new key to be sent out. They will investigate your claim and may even ask for you to send your existing key (Sticker) back to them.

There are other ways of making your windows genuine by downloading programs like Make your Windows Genuine from torrent sites, but these methods are not reconmended and your windows will still be an unauthorised edition. This can also be view as software piracy so I personally would not attempt it.

Remote desktop connection

It sounds like you had a pre-release version of RDC 6.1 installed which you should have uninstalled before installing SP3.

Check this out - under "Remote Desktop Connection" you might find the solution you're looking for.
