MOTO Q NOT READING MINI SD...I CAN NOT EVEN FIND IT ON THE PHONE...I FOUND MEMORY MANAGER WITH NO OPTIONS...I FOUND STORAGE VALUES, BUT NOTHING SHOWING THE SD....WHAT IS THE DEAL?

Hi. I have the same problem. I bought my motorola Q8 about two months ago and i bought a 2gig SD card to support it. everything was running smoothly until i decided to try out the MASTER RESET function of the phone. After reading the manual, i knew that all the previous settings and files in the phone will be erased. But what irritated me is the fact that now, i can no longer open my files in the sd card. all i see is the small windows icon alongside the files in my card. Whenever i attempt to open a file, the phone prompt says "You have to run the application first before you open this file". The user-manual is useless!

I don't have a computer is there any other way to format sandisk 16gb SD card for my moto e?

Odd how the few who tried to answer ignored this part of the question, "I don't have a computer". Or the fact the person specified the item in question is a micro SD card for a phone, but people kept answering as if it were a flash drive, or a computer was related. Open your eyes people. Sheesh!!!

As with most phones with SD card readers they will have their own method of mounting/formatting a card for use in the phone. DO NOT use the computer to format the card prior to using it in a phone.

Insert the card into the phone and open settings. Find memory card options. Scroll down to mount card option. Select that to mount the card. Another option should be available or should appear after the card is mounted. Format the card using this method to be used on the Moto E.

Same thing applies to camera's... they will have their OWN format /mounting method and you shouldn't use a PC version format. As the device will have some format or parameter is requires in order for the card to be used in that device. Only use a PC format if the product specifies to use a PC to format.

Formating memory card

You can take you memory card out of the phone, put it in a card reader and format it from your computer.

Most laptops today has a built in memory card reader.

Formatting issue

The memory might be able to be saved. but if you have attempted to format it most likely the data is gone because that is what formating does. Now you can get an 8GB Micro SD for about 15$ so I would buy a couple and always back up important data daily. Thanks,

My computer will not format my card and it says memory is being .

ur computer may be trying to format with FAT32 or NTFS and the card is probably already formatted FAT16.
Look at the properties of the card to know what the format is.

Warning in memory "FORMAT ERROR"

You could try to re-format the stick. Some cameras are a bit picky when it comes to formatting. Often they will not work unless formatted directly on the camera. You could also try formatting it under widows if you have a card reader. This may kick it into life.
