SOURCE: Removing Tub from Maytag Atlantis Washer

I do believe that when you remove the four bolts, it should come out. Sometimes you have to use a little force and shimmy left to right to get it to break loose (no hammers please) especially if you have a lot of scum build-up from soap. They can really be a bear sometimes to remove. Maybe put your foot in the bottom of the tub and hit it on both sides to work it free. Good Luck!!! Jim

SOURCE: We have a Maytag Epic Z front load washing machine

You better not to separate the inner and outer tubs as it's quite a job and takes a lot of effort.
Try to remove the heater on the very bottom of the front half of the outer tub. From outside it looks like an oval metal piece with a terminal on each side, a nut (or screw) in the center and a plug with 2 wires coming to it. UNPLUG THE WASHER as the heater is connected to the hot wire all the time.
Remove the nut (or screw) in the center of the heater and pull the heater out. Now you have a nice opening in the bottom between the tubs. There is a heater bracket, made of a thick wire inside. Make sure not to damage it when trying to remove whatever there is inside. Make sure the heater is aligned in the bracket when assembling it back together.

Good luck.

My epic front loader is make a very very load noise when in the spin cycle. Not quite at all.

OH,OH!!!, I think the main bearing is bad on the washer, see if the inner tub has play by moving it up and down. even if is not I'm sure the bearing is bad. with time and clothing weight the water seal worn allowing water to wash the lubrication in the bearing. this is a mayor repair.

We have a Maytag Epic Z front load washing machine that is making a loud metallic noise during the spin cycle. The noise migrates radially around the tub as the drum spins. It sounds like pocket change...

It sounds like an object has gotten between the drums. How do i remove the inner drum?

disconnect from power, and give yourself some room.
remove screws from rear of top and slide top back, then up to remove.
disconnect harness from control panel, etc then remove screws attaching it to frame and set aside.
now you can get to the outer front covers top screws and i believe there are some on the bottom too, but can't be certain from parts blow up photo, may just slip onto a clip.
then the inner drum support will be visible with rollers, seal, etc. and your there.
just watch the metal edges, it is often very sharp from the stamping process that cuts them out.
hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

FRONT DOOR OF WASHER LEAKING

Hello. W/D here.

It's actually pretty easy to get it back on when you know the trick.

Since it has leaked on you, you may want to remove the seal off of the rim closest to the door and clean the rim and the sealing surface. The seal has a molded lip that fits on to a raised formed rim, and it gets pressed on snugly before the ring and spring are added. You can seat the seal by pressing on it all the way around with the palms of your hands.
To install the ring:
Start the ring 180 degrees from the spring, placing it in the groove behind the seal face. (You want to make sure that the seal is pressed back into place first). Work the ring on around the seal, until you get to mostly just the spring remaining. Now lever the spring over the lip and into the groove, using a small screwdriver, being careful not to damage the seal with the screwdriver.

Best regards, --W/D--

Front Load Washer Seal

you will have to take off the front off washer to put it back correctly.

remove the top panel 3 screws in top rear
remove the bottom panel 3 screw in bottom front
remove the top led control panel 3 screw or more along front lip
if you disconnect any wiring mark it well .
now the front of washer can be removed with or without the door (your choice)
careful with the door lock wiring.
be sure to unplug the washer.
while you are in the innards its a good time to wipe around the drum any buildup of soap etc..
and to clean the filter trap in the bottom access tube below drum.
