Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Have you tried opening up the radio and spraying contact cleaner into the volume potentiometer? This is a common problem in older electronics. The RF 888 has 4 screws on the back. Remove those and you can lift off the back cover. (Be careful because those screws pass through the center of the radio and hold the front cover in place.) Get some electronic cleaner at Radio Shack and spray it into the small opening on the side of the volume control. Rotate the volume several times and let the spray evaporate and see if things sound better.
