Your Dell D620 only has a VGA Port for output to a external monitor or tv. Your TV will need to have a VGA Port too, otherwise you will need some type of adapter that goes between the laptop and the tv to convert to the type of connection the tv has (svideo, hdmi, dvi, etc.)

One you have the two connections set up to communicate with each other, just select the input source on the tv (pc, computer, hdmi, etc) and then reboot the computer if the image is not show.

After rebooting if the image is not shown, then you will need to toggle the display by some keystrokes. Press and Hold the Fn function key at the lower left hand portion of the keyboard, then hit the F8 key which toggles the display to be either on the laptop only, tv only, both the laptop and tv.

Referencing a Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop and a Optoma DLP Projector ExPro 730. Hook up all of the necessary ables and such. Turn both the Laptop and the Projector on. Once the Laptop is booted up, go to the Control Panel and double click on the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver Icon and then click on the Multiple Display and then click on APPLY! Thats it ......... and it works like a charm.

Monitor Display on TV

Try the following:
Power up the projector first. With the laptop hooked up but not powered on once projector is warming up begin booting laptop. If there is still no display once its projector is fully warmed up and laptop booted you can try using the (fn) key with the laptop monitor switching function key usually F4 which switches the display monitor to show on external, external and laptop or just laptop. If this all fails try changing resolution of laptop to something that might be more projector friendly.
Let me know how you go.
