Question about Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS Receiver
I have a Nuvi 660 that is shutting off after about 40 mins of usage, even after a full charge. It appears that the battery is not keeping a charge for very long. Unfortunately, I am out of town and do not have the Garmin charger for my 660. Can a Motorola phone charger with the USB connection be used effectively to recharge my 660? When I plug the cell phone charger into the 660, the screen shows that appears resembles a Nuvi with a cord connected to a large box (computer?)
If there is a problem with my battery, I guess I can go to the repair service directory and find a facility that can replace the battery, or is that something that I can do without sending the unit in?
It sounds like your battery is defective. They can be replaced. The Motorola phone cable is not wired exactly like the Garmin, and your Nuvi thinks it's connected to a PC. Radio Shack carries a charger for the Nuvi. I have one myself.
Let me know if you need additional help with your battery problem.
