Have to replace broken belt on a whirlpool awz 7813 tumble dryer and wondered what way the belt runs around tensioners

Double the belt and slide it between the two arms of the tension pulley. Then slip the belt over the drive motor pulley. The belt will be pushing against the tension pulley from underneath.

Hi. I have a Whirlpool dryer Model le5800xsw3. The drum stopped turning so I opened the front panel, thinking that the belt was broken. Turns out the belt was fine but the idler and pulley assembly...

The ***. has an edge that fits into a slot on the bottom .The other side goes into another slot.check the internet for your dryer belt config.

WHIRLPOOL ELECTRIC DRYER.MODEL # LEQ9508PW1. DRYER IS NOT SPINNING. MOTOR IS HEATING AND RUNNING FINE. I OPENED TOP AND BELT IS ON BUT LOOSE. BELT IS NOT BROKEN JUST LOOSE. WHAT COULD THIS BE?

You will have to go farther and remove the drum.
I believe your problem is that the belt has slipped off of the motor, or has slipped off the idler arm with pulley brackett.

Good Luck,
I hope this helps

I have a Whirlpool gas dryer that buzzes when I turn it on and gets hot, but does not rotate.

The problem you describe sounds like a broken belt. The steps below outline how to check for that and disassemble if necessary.

Disconnect Power. Lift Cover on lint filter. Remove two Phillips screws taking care NOT to allow them to fall into the blower housing. Place putty knife in the seam between the top and front panel about 2” in from either side. Push in on clip while pulling control panel forward and tilting putty knife handle up, all at the same time. Same on opposite side. Raise top all the way.

Check for belt on drum half way back on the drum running from left to right. If belt is missing or broken replace with part number 341241 later in this process.

Looking down inside dryer on left and right see a 5/16" hex head screw about 6 inches down. Remove each side while holding front panel in place. Pull top of front panel about 3 inches forward from sides and then pull up. This will disengage the front panel from lower pressure clips and allow you to turn it sideways and expose the dryer interior. Rotate front panel to right to get it out of the way watching to ensure wiring is not damaged.

Place new belt over drum groove side down if old one was broken. Check white idler pulley for free rotation before installing in holes of floor under motor pulley. Replace with part number 691366 if rotation of pulley is not free or if it appears worn. Loop belt with ribs inward and pass through the open space in the idler arm below pulley then pass loop over motor pulley rib side down. The configuration at the motor should now look like the Whirlpool model in the image below:

Grasp front edge of dryer drum and rotate counterclockwise slowly to align idler and motor pulley and to remove any twists in the belt.

Reverse disassembly process to re-assemble. Good Luck

Whirlpool dryer len2000pw0, starts fine, heats up, but will not spin?

Hi, you will need to change the belt. Here is how:
Normal 0 , UNPLUG the dryer. This model you need to remove the two screws under the lint screen. Now use a flat blade screw drive and insert it in the gap between the top and the front panel and pry the top up. Now locate and remove the screws on the inside of the front panel in upper corners. The front should lift off.
There should be instructions that came with the belt. I will try and explain how this goes on. The idler pulley fits in a slot right in front of the motor. Put the belt over the drum with ribs touching drum. Now, thread the belt through the idler pulley wheel and bracket and set the belt on the motor pulley. The ribs should rest in the grooves on the motor pulley.
I hope this helps you. If I can assist you further, please let me know. Please rate me performance so that others as well as myself will know how I am doing.

Thanks
Vic

My Whirlpool dryer belt broke.

You should be able to reuse the idler pulley unless it is physically broken.
The idler pulley fits in the slots on the bottom of the cabinet (in front of the motor) with the wheel or glide facing the left side. Place the belt (grooves inward) around the drum. Pull the belt through the middle of the idler pulley from the left side and loop it around the motor pulley.

I have a broken drum belt, but I don't see how to put the new one on.I see where it goes, but unable to figure out where and how to start it. Whirlpool LEN2000KQ Electic Dryer

Before replacing the belt, purchase a new idler assembly, the one in there is what caused the belt to fail so soon.

Replacing the belt with one person takes a little practice as you have to hold the drum in place while holding the pulley in the slots on the bottom panel and place the belt over the pulley and attach to motor shaft. The diagram shows how the belt is routed:
